Which is better, the BTF 4.5 Long Travel kit with kings or the total chaos 3.5 kit with kings? Which is stronger? Which has more travel? Which one performs better?

Pretty subjective here, you’re comparing two totally different kits. How are you planning on using the truck? Travel numbers depend on how far you take your install. Are you doing a bypass? Are you doing hydro bumps? Are you doing limit straps? The Btf kit is wider and naturally will pull more travel than a 3.5 kit, but again it’s down to install. Are you 4x4? What supporting mods are you doing? Reinforcing your steering? Reinforcing your lower pivots? What are you doing in the rear of your truck? The performance of a kit/truck also depends on how you valve your shocks and how heavy your truck is and where the weight is at.

there’s a lot of unknowns here. Is there something more specific you’re asking? It’s going to be difficult to get any relevant answer here.

FWIW, I have the btf race kit in the front and DMZ sua in the rear, and I love the setup. I’ve done 0 valving or adjustments and it’s great out of the box. Bumped and strapped right at 15.5” front and rear. Obviously there’s some improvements to be had, but I love it.

I plan on off-roading and jumping the truck pretty hard. Bypasses will be in the future. hydro stops will be in the future. I will have limiting straps. I’m 2wd. Is redoing steering necessary for both? I will probably reinforce the lower pivots. I plan to have the rear “stock” (it has icons in the rear) for maybe a month until i can afford/ do more research on what i can do with the rear. My truck will have a tubbed front bumper with 3.5” glass and in the rear will have 2 spares in the bed with a tubbed rear bumper and hitch.

Yeah you need to reinforce your steering. Take a peak at my build thread, we have a lot of the same goals: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ls6-swap-2nd-gen-build.779345/

honestly this stuff is kinda stuff you do all at the same time. Or at least do everything in the front, or do everything in the rear.

Also check out the LT Bs thread. Super good info.
