Hey there, is anyone running the BTF fab stock replacement lower control arms for our trucks? I know lots of guys run the solo arms and are happy with them but it seems as if the BTF has a higher clearance design and would perform better in the event of them hanging up in the rocks. pictures would be awesome. I appreciate the input.

The BTF LCAs have a thread here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/game-changing-lcas-btffabrication.766413/

I'm running them now. Best to ask your question on the thread above to get more eyes on it.

FYI they are not stock replacement arms. They move the LBJ 1" forward for tire clearance. This also adds some caster back. Look pretty good though but you won't be able to run a sway bar.

I am looking at a set as well- important for 1st gen folks to know the Tacoma sway bar won’t work, only for 3rd gen 4Runners. I want to see what the differences are, curious to see if I could make a 1st gen sway bar work by piecing something together-

Installed them recently on a 3rd gen 4runner. They are nice! I don't know enough about them, but didn't have any issues installing them!

I’ll also add, there’s not a single 1st gen in that thread. I think us 1st gens, we got our own problems.

Very curious to see what the clearance would be, a lot of those who have tubbed or bashed the firewall, is there other considerations such as different points where the tire contacts such as up front, etc

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I tubbed for 35s, if you want all the travel you have to cut your bumper as well and bash the upper part of the wheel well approaching the core support too. Right before the battery or air box depending on side. Went pretty hard with the Sledge and a 2x4, moving the wheel forward an inch for me now would be pretty pointless and mean more clearancing up front but I'd do it to fit 37s I'd suppose. I also have 4.6° of positive caster as is right now, I tubbed with a ton dialed in with upper arms so I really tubbed more than necessary.

I’m about to swap cabs, I’d like to not have to tub, I beat the firewall pretty good on the current cab to make 295/75-16= ~34” fit. I’ll likely go no larger than a 285/75/17 =~ true 34”, hacking the front bumper isn’t an issue, prefer not to get into the core support or inner fenders
