My BSM has stopped working, not sure when till yesterday when I almost side swiped someone. The indicator light does not light up when I turn it on. Be damned if I can find a fuse diagram in the manual.
Anyone know which fuse to check or has anyone had this issue?

The BSMS is tied into the 7.5A ECU-No. 2 fuse and the 10A IG1 No. 2, these fuses handle other systems also...

Mine decided to also die this week.

It flashes blind spot unavailable intermittently then eventually doesn't work.
Ive cleaned both back sensors. Cleaned the plugs with no luck.
Ive been looking around for a wire diagram to look at more things but so far no luck....

Turns out I have a faulty switch. Power goes to switch but not coming back out of it.

Well $350 in the hole for a mis-diagnosis from the Toyota dealer. Told me it was the switch so I replaced it and still not working.
I have a theory, I'm wondering if the blind spot system stopped working when I put my winter rims on. They don't have sensors in the wheels so the TPMS light is on. Can anyone that has winter rims with no sensors confirm that the blind spot system still works?

Completely different systems, TPMS sensors have no impact on the BSM

I dont run TPMS in the summer. When I had BSM it was unaffected.

Ok, this is a bit concerning to me. I don’t want to make assumptions however, the context tells me that there is reliance on this system.

As someone who commutes on a motorcycle I have noticed some systems are more sensitive to bikes than others. It scares me if the signal, mirror, over shoulder look is being replaced by a little amber light to tell a driver if there is something next to the vehicle.

Hopefully it was a wake up call to not rely on these systems.

I don't rely on it. I just want it to work if my truck is equipped with it.

There are 3 versions of the TPWS.
Between the BSMS and the TPWS they only share this fuse:
    upload_2020-1-24_21-31-14.jpg
Both system "talk" to the CAN-BUS.

Winter tire swap every year with no sensors. Definitely no effect on the BSM system. Not even related.

I have BSM on on my truck but I never use it. Shoulder checked for the last 28 years of driving, not going to change because of BSM. So honk and wave as you pass.

The good news is that you now have an excuse to upgrade the rear bumper. Still won't have BSM, but at least you wont be losing any additional functions.
