What brush guard are you guys using that doesn’t affect the sensors? I have been looking at the steelcraft hd. I’m not into cutting or swapping bumpers.

Avid off-road front and rear bumper guards.

the rear doesn’t work with the back up sensors but the BSM work still!

That’s just for looks. They won’t “guard” against anything substantial enough to make a difference. They’d make it worse, if anything.

Westin HDX doesn't affect it at all unless its a heavy rain. But nonetheless rain sometimes messes it up on its own. I actually had a close call and it beeped according to my sensitivity to warn me even with the guard. Worked just fine. IMG-7987.jpg

That looks good too. I was wondering how the mesh affected it.

+1 to Avid. BTW you an request them to cutout TRD on the front plate of the bumper guard.

Awesome man! You can see the cutout in my profile pic. I've been thinking about getting the rear one too, but debating between that and a full replacement steel bumper.

I have no idea about sensors because I dont have any. But i run an Avid front guard, i got it used off my dad for cheap money. Im the 3rd owner of it now haha. Previous owner was backed into in a driveway, and the Avid saved the truck. Put a very small dent in the front steel plate of the Avid. So these things have their uses, and its certainly better than having nothing on your front end. They look good with the full plate. And mines got led lights on all wired in. I do plan to eventually switch it out for a full front steel bumper. But for now its just fine. I have a full steel bumper on the rear. Protect your truck !

He does have a valid point. My in-laws own a body shop and see these things cause more damage than it would have without. I'd sooner spend my money on an actual bumper. get some more functionality out of it.

Good luck hitting a deer with a typical brush guard. Most I am familiar with are for looks only. You might check out the ARB summit bumper if you are looking for protection against collisions with deer.

I have been very happy with the Go Rhino bull bar. Very easy install on 2022 TRD Off-road, and no problems with forward looking sensors.

I got both for a price I couldn’t turn down. I would love a C4 bumper with a full bull bar one day, maybe when I replace my suspension again.

    Yup, these are damage multipliers.

Tons of examples on here of minor accidents or bumps that end up costing a lot more because these guards pushed into the body

All in all OP, get a decently mounted bull bar and if installed correctly it will work as a failsafe instead of your radiator getting destroyed and able to drive home from a deer accident. Most people that say damage multiplier usually have never had an accident with one. I personally had someone back into me while I was parked in parking lot and if it wasn't for my bumper I would be looking at OEM cosmetic damage. And they backed into me at a reverse with gas pedal speed. They are nice.
    They are useful.
Damage multipliers are situational and more than likely it will either help you from totaling your truck. Or getting your truck totaled for sure which sometimes is better than fixing it. Just my 2 cents
