Anyone know about how much I should expect to pay to replace the front passenger window? I walked out after a great dinner with my lady and found that someone smashed the window and grabbed some stuff from my truck. Definitely not how I wanted to finish up Valentine's Day. Any input greatly appreciated.

Not sure about the taco but My brother had two windows smashed on his hatchback Mazda speed 3 and it cost him $300 for both windows. They did everything from cleaning the glass and vacuuming the car as well as installing the two new Windows.

How much is your insurance glass breakage deductible?

Some states do not have a deductible. Where I live in South Carolina Glass Breakage is zero deductible.

I'm in Cali and I think my deductibles are way in excess of what it should be to replace the window. Thanks for the advice. Dealer or another company?

I don't think it matters much as "most" dealers farm it out to a glass company anyway. Every place is different check around for the glass installers in your area with a good reputation. I also say go with OEM Glass, but then again it's your money. Ask your insurance Company about the theft and vandalism part of your policy that may be better.

Was that price for OEM glass? Does it have the Toyota Stamp in the glass?

No it doesn't. I didn't specify at the shop. They used Fuyao glass.

To add to my fun this weekend I realized that someone stole the D-ring from my hitch shackle mount last night. I know it was on there yesterday when I was driving around and now it's gone. Quit touching my stuff people!!

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Are you sure it didn't fall off? I know vibration can cause the bolt to unscrew and fall out. That's why I never leave my shackles on until I'm off roading.

I thought about it as it is certainly a possibility. I've checked on it a few times since I got it and it always felt tight, but I did drive on a dirt road yesterday for about half a mile. Could have come off that way, but I'm pretty sure it was on when I went to the movies last night and then gone this morning when I pulled up to work. Either way, I've learned my lesson and won't be leaving it in the receiver anymore.

Are you familiar with a Marlin spike? It's a tool That we use offshore for many uses. One of them being loosening and tightening shackles. I have mine so tight in there no one will be able to area it without the proper tools. And I carry the Marlin spike under my seat in the event I need to loosen Up the shackle

I am not familiar, but Wikipedia informed me that the marlin fish is named after the marlin spike. Learn something new everyday! I ordered another shackle, but I'll probably be leaving it inside the cab until I need it.

I did a quick google couldn't find anything related to using it on a shackle. Anything you can post, interested to see how this works.

    Haha love the interweb
You put the end through the hole in the handle of the pin while your screwing it in. It gives you more leverage when making the shackle tight or loose. I am flying for work right now and can't really take pics.

But using these two from the Internet. Once the shackle is finger tight you Put the pointy end in the hole and twist. You'll get one to two full more turns out of it. No one will be able to undue it won't have to worry about vibrations either. And when it's come to take it off you use the tool to loosen it up.

What is the longest you have gone with it full tightened on your truck? The pig wont get stuck if I leave it on for a good amount of time right?

I had it tight for about 3 months Before I had to loosen it up to pull a car out of the snow. No problem taking it off. But I usually loosen it up and spray wd40 in there and tighten it back up once a month. But the longest I ever did would be 3 months.
