So i went to do a simple brake job and broke a caliper bolt off. This was the most frustrating aggravating thing i have ever delt with! Took 8 hours to get this out without damaging the threads. Thankfully i had some pretty knowledgeable people to show up and help out!

I’ve had the same problem once or twice... Ex-girlfriend wouldn’t leave. Called the right people & shit got done. It took a couple of hours, but when the police arrived, they escorted all the way off of my property. AND they gave her a free ride to wherever... Glad you got it done, dude. Good riddance.

Homie in the hiviz is brave af going under the wheel well like that with only a floor jack holding it up... unless there's some jack stands hidden somewhere.

Drag!! Good learning experience for the future. It will happen again, but always frustrating when it should just be easy! Glad you got it taken care of! Next time it will be easier.

That’s the exact feeling when dealing with a broken bolt for hours.

2 more words, anti-seize. So it will never happen again.

Are you in a salted/mag-chloride location? If so, every nut/bolt/faster you remove from here on out should be lathered up with anti-seize on reassembly.

I am not! But the truck came from PA! So yeah, I’ve already been dealing with that. Even removing the skid plate was a pain in the ass.

    8 hours? Yikes!

Weld a nut to the exposed area of the bolt. The shock of the heat will usually release the corrosion by itself, but the nut gives you a way to back it out.

Regardless, you got it done. Good job!

We tried that and had no luck. The welder i had there wasn’t the best. Yeah it was a pain and i love doing my own work, but it seems every time something should be easy… something goes wrong lol
