    Hey everyone.
I was installing some new gas tank straps to accommodate a new skid plate and the bolt receiver snaped off upon doing so. The area is caged in and hard to reach and I am a noob so I do not know what to do. Any suggestions will help. Thank you.

Can you slip a bolt in there? I’ve also used threaded handles for like situations.

I would try and get some pliers in there to hold the nut while you undo the bolt.

Then get a proper nut, wiggle it in there and get a wrench on it. I appears you can slip the wrench in this part vertically and then rotate it sideways. Maybe grind the handle down a little bit to fit if needed.

If you're not comfortable with any of that, just ratchet strap the tank in place and let a mechanic deal with it.

Slide a washer and nut in there then bolt it together. It looks like you could get a wrench in there to hold the nut while tightening.

Since the amount of force you applied broke the nut, I'm assuming its probably rusted, or more likely cross threaded. Easiest solution would be to cut off the existing bolt and fish the nut out. Replace with a new bolt, washer, lock washer, and nut. Should be able to sneak an open ended wrench in there to tighten.

    Edit:
First picture looks like it's cross threaded. I would definitely just cut the bolt out. Not worth trying to mess with a wrench in there to undo it.

Thank you everyone! I was able to slip a wrench in to hold the nut and unscrew the bolt without too much resistance. Then got a new nut, bolt, washer and loc tite which did the trick! Here is the finished project.
