Also, I just want to throw this out there. If you guys don't have an EcoFlow or other portable battery system, you need to invest in one. This thing has saved my ass so many times when I'm somewhere without access to an outlet. I got this little guy the other week for $99. Have a bigger one that I use for camping/vacuuming the truck etc.

Sorry that happened, if they have one at the junk yard that's probably your quickest fix and can be back running tomorrow. You going to try and Re flash your tune?

I would build the harness for the bench flash after you get running and then try and recover the old one. At least you will have 2 and can tune one and keep one stock. I seriously been thinking about it my self.

You said you built the harness? I'd love to see how that looks, to see if its something I even want to attempt at doing. I can't wrap my head around how you get wires to latch on those tiny pins.

Yeah I gave it my best shot there are different ecus with different pinouts this happened to be for mine

“attached is the pinout. The TOP version is for your ECU. the BLUE and the BLACK pins are ground. The GREEN is CAN LOW, grey is CAN HIGH, and reds are power.

Connect it like this directly with 12v to the orange flash cable and then use the gen2 force flash again”

Np I double checked all connections were correct verified everything with Matt even about the cable set up I was using with a belkin usb c apater to my Mac running parallels. That is his exact set up for tuning as well. I finally gave in but maybe someone can bring it back. I can’t see why it wouldn’t the voltage was good tune successfully flashed.

With that alarm I'd guess the ECU wasn't getting power. I had very similar problems trying to recover. Probably took 50 attempts of wiggle and retrying to get it to take. Then I flashed the same corrupt file and bricked it again!

Sir, are you running latest 1.7.5 version and are you a DIY customer?

What was the cause if determined? Or what does Mat think caused the issue?

    What resolution did he recommend?

Sorry for all the questions, trying to piece together what may be happening. Thanks

yes 1.7.5.0 , I'm reading about the procedure to do it on a bench, but it sounds a bit complex to me :(

Were you flashing an update, tune, or reverting to stock when it failed?

I was trying to install a new tune (I had done it several times before) only this time I got an error and after that it was impossible to access to the ecu , the people from my Toyota agency came with their scanner but they didn't have any success either. (As it was expected) but I wanted to exhaust my options before spending the $1000 that a new ecu costs

I’m in SLC and have a bench flash harness. PM me and we can try to recover it.

I hate to hear of this but Barrett offer to bench flash/recover should be looked at if possible and near by.

Did you have it on a battery tender charger while flashing by chance? Notice what your voltage was at time?
