I have an announcement. Today was so bad I'm gonna get extra high. It is 4/20 and all. lol

 

Just looked at the 1 year NFLX chart. The gap down today is massive. From $330 to $245. Then there's the other massive gap down from 1/20. Which was their last earnings. That went from $507 to $399. It's gonna be a hot minute before it recovers.

 

I was gonna make an announcement on 4/20 but then I got high....

 

From Q4 earnings, I thought, "ok, it dropped 20%, it's priced in now, no way will it happen again"

I was wrong.

 

It's not often you get back to back monster drops on earnings like that. The craziest part is it never even recovered from the first drop. It was trading lower then that low yesterday. On top of that they beat on EPS both quarters. Fucking nuts.

 

ATH $700.99 to current $226.19 in less than a year.

If you bought in any time after Jan 2018 you're bagholding now.

 

They're in cash-grab mode right now and (ironically) the market doesn't seem to like that. Raising prices, gonna stop account sharing. And honestly, their catalog is pretty weak compared to some of their competitors. They have no interesting IP aside from their own created content, and the majority of that is lackluster at best.

Netflix needs a niche to give it an edge.

 

Yep. Which begs to question how stupid high others stocks valuations are and if they will all follow a correction.

I've been reconsidering my subscription lately because cost has gone up while quality of content has gone down.

I'm trying to think of top tier stuff on Netflix in the last 3 years...Stranger Things, Ozark, Chappelle specials, Ballad of Buster Scruggs...the rest has mostly been straight-to-DVD quality ass and they canceled some stuff I enjoyed a lot (Santa Clarita Diet was fucking hilarious).

Slim pickins for $16/month.

I tend to watch whoever has star wars content (disney now) and whoever has the best documentaries/space shows. That's pretty much Youtube now. I have a Youtube premium account - fuck, that's another one I'm paying for lol.

I tried Curiosity stream, but it sucked.

I like HBO Max the best for movies because they seem to get the blockbusters a couple weeks after their theater debut.

A while ago, my GF's mom brought us over a nice ham wrapped in foil and vacuum sealed. She uses my house as food cold storage since I have the two fridges and the chest freezer. The week before Easter, I was asked to take the ham out of the freezer and thaw it in the fridge. Easy Peasy. Easter morning rolls around and my GF takes the ham up to her grandparents' house, where they unwrap it to find...

Two giant raw turkey breasts lmfao. So one was for Easter dinner, and since the other one was already thawed, I chucked it on the smoker.

It did have a brine of some sort on it, but it was not my doing.
