First bit of advice if you’re investing for quick returns only invest what you can afford to 100% lose and walk away from. If you’re investing for future buy things like $AMD
Or buy stock that have a good dividend and reinvest it.
If your employer has a 401(k) that should be the first thing you take it advantage of because the investment of your money before taxes are taken out gives you an automatic return of whatever your tax rate is.
As far as penny stocks go you have to be very on the ball. You’re not allowed to set trailing stop loss is for OTC stocks so you have to use your apps to set price alerts.

Additionally I don’t know what trading platform you’re using but watch out for fees for trades. Some of these OTC penny stocks cost seven dollars in and seven dollars out so it’s $14 for a full trade if you buy $100 worth you’re losing 14% just a cost

Agreed 100% I've been sucked into my phone all week watching my initial opening $3 gains bounce around a few quarters here and there expecting something big.

It's exciting. But not useful, yet...

I think with the lower $2 & $3 stocks you'd have to have a few hundred or thousand shares in it to make a difference. $100 doesn't get much. You have to have money to make money this way.

Edit: same on the sundail and others. I look back a few weeks or months and cringe at being so late.

I've been setting stop limits. Although I understand they're not always 100% effective.

I don't have anything intentional set up through work yet but they do automatically set aside 9% for state retirement and I'm looking into deferred comp and other retirement plans they offer.

I've been using Webull and they dont allow penny stocks. Probably a good thing. That fee rate kills ya, so youd almost have to invest a few $k just to make it worth while and keep an eye on it like a hawk which a lot of people can't do from work. Makes sense.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You have to buy in bulk. If it's 2-3 bucks a pop, I go 100 shares minimum.

I got 200 shares of HRVSF (OTC Weed stock) @ $3.14 on Jan 20. It's at $4.06 right now and climbing. That puts me 30%-ish up ($200-ish). Pre-pandemic high was $10 in April. It looks like it is headed that way...I hope

Webull desktop app is awesome to leave up all day. When GME was going off the rails I had their website on my chromecast in the garage lol and was waiting for my accounts to setup and deposits to verify... missed that :rocket: and Fidelity still hasn't let me add my bank account correctly...

$CLNE had a $2 Jump last Wednesday and $5 jump on Monday, is it still worth getting aboard? Or has that train left the station?

Should I keep asking about these things?

So, what's up with MEDIF? I can see the volume is pretty low... the stock has risen from $102 to $261 over the last 365 days (161%).

You don't think it might be too late?

Especially if the employer does any sort of matching. If you're not contributing at least enough to maximize the match, you're leaving free money on the table. Say your employer does a 50% match of the first 8% contribution -- that's effectively a 4% raise if you just put 8% of your pay into the 401k.

Another area to look into is Employee Stock Purchase Plans -- specifics will vary by employer but with mine they offer purchase of stock at a 15% discount of the lower of the beginning-of-quarter or end-of-quarter price. So the minimum gain is 15% on my ESPP contribution, and if the stock's gone up over the quarter the gain can be notably higher.

I figured out what stuff I could budget enough savings to fund quarterly (truck payment, truck insurance, etc.) and take the max ESPP deduction. So each paycheck is lower but that amount buys a chunk of company stock each quarter when I immediately sell and cash out.

When you have an option for free money, take it.

My employer matches our 401K 10% (2 to 1). I put in 5% they put in 10%... Love it.

Their boost in price was more than likely due to the Amazon news. I think it's a good long term play if NG can be more widely utilized.
