Don't worry...I Sold $NRGU and spread it around...bought a bunch of $PENN and $DKNG etc...and have a long time until I get that back to level...Not at all upset that those 100 shares I sold would be 7.5x now instead of -4x....like the rest of the market...

Big power players would very much see that as a set of pros and cons, considering how intertwined economic power is with geopolitics.

We don't really *want* China on even footing with the US when it comes to investment or economic expansion, at least not until they become way more friendly and less rivalrous to Western interests.

So I mean, yeah, nice for some things, but try to move the whole market to a mechanic like that and you're going to get the attention and pushback of a lot of powerful parties lickety split.

 

And that's fine, I'm not expecting a light switch to flip and all of a sudden Amazon and boeing move to a new exchange. It's probably even a disadvantage for the legacy corporations to have all of their shit on the up and up.

But if it starts with a few of the heavily shorted companies making the hop, and all of a sudden the prices start moving organically without forced suppression, swaps, and whatever other wizardry, then the public is going to see quite quickly how much they are being screwed. Or they'll say it's a fake pump and dump scam.

The .gov may be forced to pull out its "national security" card, like you said. If all of the transactions are completely open and viewable by anyone in the world, there's definitely risks there.
I'm confident there's smarter people than me considering these potential roadblocks. And all of this is so much in its infancy, the best we can do is speculate.
