This week I just recieved new standard duty Generalspring leaf springs for my 98 4x4 taco. After installing along with new shocks the back now sits ~1.5" shorter than the front (stock springs and height). As you can see from the pics the springs are sagging really bad and are bent up in the middle (also a weird kink in one of the springs. I have not put any load in the truck yet it's only been about 24 hours since install. I find it odd that both springs are sagging like this. These are WAY worse then the factory springs I replaced at 270k miles. Does anyone have any ideas or advice besides contacting them which I already have. Any other suggestions for a higher quality OEM replacement leaf?

Thanks! Yes, these are worse than the factory ones I had on a 3" spacer. I'm pretty frustrated and since both are like this I have serious doubts that a replacement would do anything. IMG_5386.jpg

A red neck fix would be put a helper leaf in there.....maybe longer rear shakles....maybe the adjustable ones...

Costs triple of what you paid, but I'm sure it's far better quality.

Was under the impression that the Generalspring leaf springs were meant for 4X2's......

I did get the new shackles that General spring sales as well.

I'm trying to restore the original ride height. the OME claims to have 2.25" increase in height.

At least for the 98-00 model years they have both and also a Heavy Duty version: https://www.generalspringkc.com/leaf-springs/toyota/tacoma/1998-2000-toyota-tacoma-leaf-springs/

Mines the small 3 band one, and your 4 band one looks as weak as mine or worse...

I did, I will update the thread with what they say. The thing that is most concerning as I said before is that they are both doing it. It would make more since as a one off issue if only one were sagging like this. They are also squeaking when I get in/out of the truck.

Does anyone else know any OEM height spring options?

With the flaw you got a get out a jail free card....
....i'd send them back ......shouldnt have to buy a helper leaf when brandnew......what happens 5 years later....

And then start a new thread poling whats worked for leaf upgrades......no shortage of advice.....this and wheels......biggest passion play here.......

Might even luck out and find someone who has an extra uninstalled set.....
