I have a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off road package with 115,000 miles in excellent condition: Last week all brakes seem to have locked up while parked in my driveway, everything was working perfect until then. No leaks, fluid is full and haven't been near freezing temperatures in weeks. After three days of engaging 4 high, 4 low, neutral, reverse the tow driver arrived and it worked fine. I dove to the dealer and they could found nothing wrong. I don't want it to happen again, any ideas anyone?

Did you use your parking brake? Had mine get stuck once after driving in the rain and parking overnight.

Sometimes rust on pads will lock everything up. Every thing wet then dries, locking everything. Ive had it happen a time or 2

My e-brake locks up from time to time when wheeling, just press the pedal and release again, then give a little gas and it frees up

If your undercarriage is wet when you park for the night and it dips below freezing your park brake will freeze the shoes to the drums. You can sometimes free them up by hitting your drum with a hammer. You said all your brakes were locked up ,are you sure it wasn't just the rears?

I've had my rears lock up before from both freezing and rust, both after washing the truck then immediately engaging the parking brake. A few taps with a hammer got me going in both situations.

If all four wheels locked up it sounds like the special OR master cylinder. Wish I could help, sorry.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and ideas: I'm not sure it was brakes, I thought about the transfer case or rear differential lock but it "felt" like brakes. It would have been nice to jack it up and see what if any wheel would turn but was on a hill. When I gave it some gas, about 2,000 rpm, I got the left rear wheel to spin and moved down hill three feet, again felt like I was fighting the brake. It is working fine now after a clean bill of health from the dealer, thanks again for all the ideas and concern.

    E brake and rust.

Was it wet out or did you drive through puddles right before parking?

It had been raining and I washed it like I have done a hundred times before but the temp. was probably in he low 50's, and I never had this problem in the snow.
