I had good luck with EBC brakes, put them on my first gen Tundra because the rotors kept warping...

Much better brake response and solved the warping problem on the Tundra at least till I traded it. Felt much better towing also, the stock brakes were trash on the Tundra.

Toyota's seem to have sub-par brakes compared to other trucks I've had... Mine are pretty weak and the brakes on our 2016 Tundra are weak as well, makes the truck feel really heavy.

What don't you like about OEM? Wearing out too quick? Fading on long descents?
There are brakes out there that will offer longer pad life
There are brakes out there that will hold the heat better and resist fade

As far as overall "better" I doubt you will find one solution that is better (life, fade) in both categories than OEM.
As far as stopping distance, the coefficient of friction of rubber on driving surface and vehicle mass determines that number.

If you have added weight or are using some harder tire compound then, unless you go with new calipers, pads and rotors from someplace like Wilwood or Baer then nothing is going to help much. Hope this helps.

OP i recently added braided steel brakelines all around on my truck, got em from Headstrong, and that simple $100 add has literally transformed my brakes, and i haven't even changed pads yet. I've always used SS lines but I've never had them make such an immediate and huge difference for so cheap. before- all mush, after - none, zero mush. highly recommended as at least part of your solution.

He could be hard on his brakes. Also possible the truck has 30-40k on it and needs them. could have warped the rotors, or if he doesn't drive much or they sat for a long period of time and rusted up pretty good. Lots of reason people go through brakes

Transmissions are brakes friends. I live in Western Carolina and got 100k on my 2006 Fronts and the brake guy said the Rears looked like brand new. It really sucks following "Billy-Brake Lights" down a mountain when a lower gear will do.

??? From stainless steel lines??? This addon will never stop brake fade from over stressed brake pads. The OP is looking for help, and not to be swindled.

I have always had good experience with Hawk HPS series for aggressive street. Do NOT get race pads, and don't waste your money on the ceramics, fancy brake lines, and goofy looking rotors. Good old fashioned, high quality, semi-metallic pads from a top quality manufacturer. Be sure to turn your rotors or just replace them with a stock replacements if yours are warped or too thin. If the stock system, with glHawk pads, is still inadequate, then a 2016-17 Tacoma may be the wrong truck for you.... you need a custom built off road truck. Budget for many 10s of thousands of dollars or just slow down a little. Good luck.

For $100 bucks, it is a great place to start.
