So, the pins that hold the calipers started to come out. At the end of the pin is the clip, that seems to have fallen out of the pin on the right side.

We went to autozone to get new clips, but they didn't seem to have the right kind. We're having trouble finding the information online.

Has anyone had this problem? and if so, where could we find new clips?

Does anyone know why this would happen?

It would be difficult for it to just fall out unless it wasn't installed right in the first place. :notsure:

We did change the pads, but that was about two oil changes ago. It seems like they would have fallen out a while ago if they were going to. The ones on the left side are fine.

Dad-who use to be a mechanic-said he's never seen them just fall out before so we're confused.

I noticed one of mine fell out when I had the wheel off a couple weeks ago. I know it was in right when I replaced the pads. Probably rusted out. I had some 0.052" wire laying around so I bent a new and improved clip to hold the pin.

You're right. It probably would have fallen out sooner if installation was the problem.

That pin you are looking for is called a hairpin and can be found at any good hardware store.

Even if you cannot locate the exact replacement a properly sized cotter pin will work just ducky in that application.
