Mine went out at 1800 miles. I asked the service rep WTF. He said the originals are softer so the 'test drives' are smoother. I tow a small trailer and I would have changed them right away if I knew. Both me and the wife can tell the difference after the $600 brake job. Be doing my own after that experience.

    YMMV

I run the same pads as of currently. They have been amazing as far as pad life goes and stop just as well if not better than the OE pads. I highly recommend them!

My second gen just traded in for my 2019 trd off road had 88,500 miles same original brakes. And if you had any idea how much I towed over the life of that truck and how much overweighted many of the hauls were you’d be amazed. Brakes after 1800 miles somethings faulty despite how cheap of material used.

Yeah, still think something was wrong and the dealer ripped us off but it is good now

Yeah it was after 2 years so no factory warranty.

Factory brakes are shit. I put ceramic pads on mine brand new. It had less that 1000 miles on it. You can definitely tell the difference

for 2nd GEN peeps if you want to save a little money but still want the OEM pads you can buy the Beck Arneley 089-1678 semi metallic pads, these are the same as the OEM Toyota semi metallic pads made by ADVICS Japan for 2nd gen tacos. and the ADVICS A6F057 are the OEM rotors, made in USA, same parts just not in the Toyota box. Rockauto for best prices.

organic, metallic and ceramic are all different. if you "we" call metallic, organic then that's fine with me but for your info in real life they are not the same.

What ceramics did you get? I have 10700 miles on my 2019 now and I'm ready for a brake change. Want something better.

Well I found out that the ACDelco pads were semi-metallic and organic as well so I returned them and bought the
Centric 105.0976 Posi-Quiet Ceramic Brake Pad

I wondered about the ACDelco pads with the shining metal flakes so I did some more research and found they were made of ceramic, semi-metallic and organic materials but I wanted fully ceramic pads, as you can see the Centric ceramic pads have no shining metals imbedded into the pads.

My large dealership doesn't stock Toyota genuine fluid for the diffs. It's a special order believe it or not. They use Amsoil only and stock it for all of their work/repairs.
