It varies depending on your driving style. My 2017 had 50k miles on it and the pads were still fine.

To be more specific we bought the truck with 18k miles and now it has 48k miles on the clock .. so perhaps they are Original pads …..

Depending on several things, factory pads Iv seen go at least 40k miles. I’m at 41 just about and I have probably another 10k of pad material left before replacement .

    I think, that's pretty normal.
As it was mentioned previously, it greatly depends on driving style and type (highway, rural, city traffic), AND mods! Especially your tire size and weight. This will greatly affect not only your MPG but also how quickly you will wear out your brakes. Ask me how I know... LOL

I've had pads last 150,000 miles on the rear, as much as 80,000 on the front. And I've had to replace front pads after 10,000 miles. It depends on the vehicle, the quality of the pads, and how you drive. But for me, 50,000 on the front and 100,000 on the rear is what I normally see.

My lady had 136k on her stock brake pads. She had the car years before we met, I was rotating her tires and asked if she ever had them changed, She said no. Quick trip to auto zone and 30 minutes later, I showed her the bare stock pads. She said, this is why I love you

so, some pads can last longer then others I guess.

Lol. Pads definitely depend on how it's driven. My car had 230K on it before the front pads got replaced... Of course I had commuted 60 miles to work by highway for a while, so lots of miles with no braking.

So true, if you do a lot of highway travel, they could possibly last the life of the vehicle.

I hear the ridgeline can go a million miles on a set of pads.

My fronts have ~41k on them and still a lot of meat left on the pads. I'd be surprised if they needed to be replaced before 60k at this rate.

If I'm planning on keeping the vehicle, I'll use OEM, I'd also look at resurfacing or replacing the rotors, no point in putting new and good pads on glazed rotors.

Aftermarket pads very wildly in quality and longevity. Certain brands are great, and others are not so great. OEM is the safest bet.

Toyota offers 2 pads, there cheaper version which are just fine and the pad that comes on the truck from the factory.cheaper pad usually around 60.00 or so and the factory pad is usually in the 100.00 dollar range.
