Does anyone know the NEW thickness on OEM front brake pads and rear shoes?? Seems like difficult info to find. Trying to time when I should swap mine out for my wear rate. 2014 SR5

Don't the front pads have a wear indicator? Squealer? Groove in the pad? Something that gives you that visual?

Rears should last a minimum of 2x the front. It's important to keep the rears cleaned/lubed/adjusted so they work well.

If you insist on measuring, go to a parts house, ask them to pull the parts, measure them, give the guy a couple bucks for his trouble.

Ya they do. Reason I ask is because I put on a ton of miles. Travel all over the north east 30k plus a year. I am "pretty sure" the fronts start at 12 and after 2 years I am at 6. The rears they measured at 5? At the current rate my fronts will be borderline replacement at next inspection which is why I want to change them first to save a few bucks. The rears I have no idea about..

The fronts have a metal tab that starts making noise when it's time.

I know this tread is old but in case someone else is looking...
I recently went in search of the same information. Not many definitive answers. I found this as a response from a Senior Member on ToyotaNation:
[For the front pads the factory manual gives a range from about 11mm down to a wear limit of 1mm.]
[For the rear shoes the factory manual specifies a standard thickness of 5mm and a wear limit of 1mm.]
