Like a hundred bucks which isn't bad for like 3 hours being there. I paid for it be a use it was my mistake for plugging the tails incorrectly or at least making sure everything lined up wire wise. But then again I'm glad because now the 2nd fuse that was missing is all good now. Will post pics of the final build so far. Did a photo shoot today as well

You said that a 2nd fuse from the infotainment system was missing?
Without that fuse what wasn't working prior to this happening?

I physically tested every fuse and they are all good.(under hood / dash)
is there another location for the infotainment fuse, im having the exact same problem you had but i dont see how that fuse could cause it

That reason from the dealer doesn't seem right.

Yup. His Truck was working fine. OP had a issue. The dealer said that a fuse from a unrelated component was missing. Put a fuse in and everything works?

Can you get a pic of where the missing fuse is located at?

Yeah I should have asked where the fuse was put. Dealer's words not mine. What ever they did it worked at least. Something's definitely different now that I can actually use the new tails and everything is fine now. So I have no idea.

I am currently having this exact issue, which lead me to this thread. I installed the "Winjet' tail lights last night. Should have been an easy 10 min plug and play. Instead, my truck won't start, stuck in park, "break over ride malfunction" warning is on the dash.

The electronics turn on but the engine won't turn over. All lights in the headlight and tail lights work except the DRLs and the actual taillights (the blinkers, brake light and reverse light work.)

My tail light fuse under the dash (7.5) was blown. When I replaced it, it blew again.

I have a feeling it triggered some other issues.

Going to have the Truck towed to the dealership ASAP. I'll keep everyone posted on the situation. Hopefully it's an easy fix like ProjectTgen3 said.

BTW I just became a member here as I am a new 2017 tacoma trd offraod owner. Quicksand. I've got about 6,000 miles on the tuck. This issue is pretty irritating.

Yeah so basically try the STOP fuse and it should turn over. It should be a simple fix because this like exactly what happened to me.

Right on! I'll give it a try. Do you have after market tail lights? Is that what triggered the break override malfunction? Did you have to go back to the stock lights to keep it from happening again?

    Okay so here's the update:

The STOP fuse was blown under the hood, and the TAIL fuse was blown under the instrument panel.

With the winjet tail lights still installed, I replaced both with new fuses. When I hit the ignition nothing was fixed. Still wouldn't turn over, still got the break override malfunction error, and the STOP fuse blew again.

I then reinstalled the stock taillights, and replaced the STOP fuse again. This time the engine started and the truck was running. But, still the tail lights were not on, or the DRLs.

I turned the engine off, waited a minute, and attempted to turn it back on. This time the engine tries to turn over but does not start...

Maybe it's time for a trip to the dealer.

Probably fried the TAIL fuse again.
Check the TAIL and STOP relays?
