has anyone replaced the master cylinder in their tacos I am asking cuz I think mine is starting to go as the pedal sometimes sinks to the floor & pedal sometimes stiffens up every morning in sub zero temps as I go to work. Anyways the reason I'm asking is because when I went to a few part stores they asked me if it has a tow pkg, 4x4 & skids i told them yes as I drive a 14' sport dcab LB 4x but told me they don't have it in stock for that specific brake booster then when I went to the local yota dealer the parts guy said there's 7 different #'s for that specific part so I gave him my vin & quoted me the price but I'm thinking of going aftermarket since it's cheaper but looking online with a few vendors it doesn't specify what type of pkg & trim it only lists as base & v6 options so now I'm confused & not sure which brand to buy since it seems like my truck needs a specific booster if it's equipped with tow pkg & 4wd but I am wondering what are the differences between the brake booster setups? Doesn't just one type of brake master cylinders for 2nd gen tacos be all compatible for all 2nd gen tacos or does it have to do with my truck having those traction control features? What aftermarket brand should I go with or is it best if I just stick with oem?

Hopefully it's actually the master cylinder and you don't have hydraulic booster type, is your brake fluid full?

Do you have the hydraulic booster

Mine looks more to be the vacuum style I never knew there was two types for the tacos

I think the hydraulic one is mainly found on the TRD Offroad models, it's a very expensive unit to replace should it have a failure.

Second pic doesn’t look stock either. See brake line adapter? Is that the Tundra booster upgrade?

It was just a pic I found to show the difference in Vacuum vs Hydraulic booster type.

Oh ok I see ya luckily I just have the regular vacuum style so it won't break the bank too much lol but why does the the OR model have the hydraulic version what's so special about it? I thought they all use the same setup interesting.........

I think it has to do with the Active Traction Control and Hill Descent Control that the Offroad models have but I may be wrong.
