    Hello..

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Access Cab, 6 speed manual. My brake fluid light just turned on, and I had to refill the Dot3 brake fluid about 7 times to the max level (a few days later it goes to the min level and stays there) I have determined that that master cylinder has to be replaced (bled brakes and also checked for visible leaks) and I am looking online for the right part for my model truck. I am a bit confused because when I find options, it says with break assist or without break assist. I know for a fact I have ABS brakes and when I skid during wet weather I can hear and feel the ABS crunch sound when braking. Can someone tell me what model number of master cylinder I have to buy....both OEM and a non-OEM option. Thanks

before you do any replacing, find where its leaking.

You might check the clutch master cylinder, there is a line that uses the brake fluid there if im not mistaken.

If your Master Cylinder is dripping with fluid you may have a point. If you do not know where the fluid is going Do Not replace the master cylinder.

It should be easy to find the leak as you have filled the Master Cylinder 7 times.... That is a lot of fluid.

It is more likely a leaking brake line, wheel cylinder, caliper or the clutch slave cylinder that is actually leaking.

Experiencing something very similar with my 06 TRD off-road 6-speed. I noticed my brake fluid level constantly dropping also, checking the brakes/line brake cylinders and no leaks. Noticed fluid on my floor mat leaking right under my clutch pedal. It seems as though the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder are shared. The leak on my floor mat is brake fluid coming from the clutch slave cylinder. I've been trying to do some research to determine if it is indeed the clutch SLAVE cylinder and not the clutch MASTER cylinder and also trying to find a write up anywhere on how to do this yourself. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction it would be a great help! I attached a picture of the leak under the clutch pedal.

The brake and the clutch share the fluid reservoir. If the leak is inside the truck it is the master cylinder or one of the connections on it.

If it was the Slave Cylinder it would be under the truck near the clutch fork outside of the truck.

You have a clutch master cylinder leak,

Follow the leak to the highest point. It could just be that the hose from the reservoir to the clutch master cylinder is not sealing properly.
