Im trying to do a brake job on my 06 Corolla and I have a quick question. My brake discs are straight up not coming off. I tried hammering, penetrant, and a lot of curse words... Still there lol.

Does this look like the disc is locked on by the hub nut? Or is there so much rust I need to keep trying to knock it off? Any and all help is appreciated!

Hammer a little harder and hit the corners of it. You shouldn't damage the rotors, but in the off event that you somehow manage to mangle them up replacement rotors are cheap. Just give it a hard whacking.

I had that issue with my wifes car. I sprayed liquid wrench where the rotor meets the lug nuts and center hub. Rotate and repeat. I then used a long screw driver stuck in the ventelated part of the brake and started hitting the handle with a hammer. Came off no problem after that.

Thank god the tacomas have the screw hole to push the disk off the hub.

If you have a large pipe wrench, clench it on the rotor while pushing down, and hit the opposite side of the rotor with a hammer. I also hit the rotor on the edge of the wheel mounting surface with about a 40oz hammer, just don't hit your studs
Put some anti-seize on before the new rotors

A hammer works quicker and more effectively than using the screw hole. It is convenient to have though I agree!

I use a rubber mallet. Beat the crap out of it, make a quarter turn, beat again, repeat. A blow torch helps too.

Same for me, don't feel bad.

When I have a stuck part and a large hammer things usually don't go very well for me or the part I'm working on haha.

I replaced my Corolla rotors last year, with Brembos. They had those 2 threaded removal holes. Not sure if OEM does.

This! you'll put dents in the rotor at least I did on my old 4runner...I guess my hammer was tougher than the disk brakes...

Are you replacing the caliper now? Or does it move freely again?

The brakes weren't seized, just couldn't get the discs off.
