Hi, I’m a new member. I have a 2013 double cab v6 4wd Tacoma with a factory towing package. I want to intall a REDARC tow pro to elite trailer brake controller. But I just found the toyota wiring harness for this in my glove box—not installed as part of the towing pkg. I thought controller installation would be simple with the prewired harness. Now that I have to first splice in the harness, not so sure. Has anyone done this? Not sure how to tell which wire is which in the existing truck wiring. Any suggestions?

Tucked up under the dash and driver side kick panel there is a plug. Tucked behind the wiring harness. it's white. If you got a prewired harness when you got your brake controller one end should plug into that plug in the truck the other into the brake controller.

No splicing needed just need to find the open plug and plug in as mentioned. its WAY up under there above the dead pedal / clutch pedal , get a flashlight and get comfortable.
