im trying to find brackets that will allow me to put pod lights where my fog lights used to be, I see there are brackets for like $60, im not trying to pay that much for two pieces of metal. Any suggestions on how to mount the pod lights?

Just pay the $60. The cheap always comes out expensive. You will get a $20 piece of metal that won’t fit right or look like crap

definitely not the case, I payed under $20 for hood brackets, and other lighting brackets. I have also went the cheap route with ditch lights, light bars... etc. The point is lighting and brackets are extremely over priced and you can always find the right parts for a great price if you ask around.

Buy cheap lights if you want. Makes no difference to me. If you think Chinese light bars/pods are comparable to the big boys you need to research more. OP is looking for a bracket to place in an OEM fog light spot. His next post will be how he bought a $20 bracket and it looks shity or doesn’t fit. This game isnt for the cheap but be you.

first of all, there are countless youtube videos out there comparing "Chinese" lighting to the "big boys" and theres not that much of a difference. They all come from the same place. Granted there are some awful brands that are border line scams but paying $200 for 2 pod lights is a border line scam as well when you can get the same thing with nearly the same light output as $20 pod lights. I know when it comes to trucks there are many things you cant take shortcuts on but in my opinion lighting and lighting brackets are not one of those things. Buying expensive lighting accessories is the same as buying gucci slippers, its just for the flex, people that own them claim that they are more comfortable but they are nearly the same as dollar store slippers, same goes for truck lighting.

Have fun as there really isn't much to mount them to under there. Do shows us what you came up with.

Best of both worlds…cheap, plug ‘n’ play and will compete with the big boys.

If you truly believe that those cheap Chinese lights will compete with my Diode Dynamics SS3's, I'll buy them from you. Trust me, they won't even come close. But if cheap is all you want ...

If you have design skill and a 3d printer you could print some mounts, I did it for my 2011.

In the cheap vs expensive pod talk, I am using cheap pods to determine if I like lights in a certain location before I invest $200 for a pair of lights. For example I really like how ditch lights work but I kind of hate them on the hood so I am going to try angled lights when I get a front bumper.

Bring them over and compare them with my SS3 Max's. No contest.

BTW, how do you determine "brighter?" Many folks determine how bright a given light is by looking into it. That's not at all scientific and in most cases just shows how much glare a light puts out. I'm a big fan of instrumented testing by an independent source. @crashnburn80 for instance.

Thought you were on the island too, I was like yeah we can go on a trail ride! I’m sure your maxes blow my sports out of the water. I enjoyed reading thru crashnburn, helped me decide not to get the SAE version. In terms side by side same light pattern (driving combo) the bajas do better maybe that’s my bias
