BPFabricating raptor style grille

I’m looking to make my first mod on my Tacoma and I came across the raptor style grille and love the look, but have not seen many reviews or anyone who has it. Any thoughts?
Also, looking at an avid light bar for the front bumper.

 

Many TW members have Raptor grills but DIY style. Haven’t seen many with the BPF product.

Never been a fan of those grills. They look so gaudy to me.

If you want the plain mesh look like that just go to Customcargrills.com and buy the Tacoma mesh and DIY it.

Breaking it down cost-wise:
Mesh = $50
Letters = $40-50 depending on vendor (id buy them from HomerTaco or maybe SOS off-road or BAMF)
Color matched grille = ~$200 from Camelback Toyota parts website

So you are at ~$400 for diy IF you need the color match grille. Not including any potential shipping costs. Really up to you at that point.

 

I got the BPF mesh without the letters. It’s great quality!

And OP, there was a guy who was supposed to be making grill inserts like that on here, I followed his thread for a while but he never seemed to finish. It was a few months ago, and the prototype looked pretty good. I will try to find it.

 

They're known to rust....

Most if not all the plain mesh type grilles are powder coated aluminum, so no rust issues.

I can’t speak for all the CNC’ed stuff and other aftermarket grilles.

 

I got a mesh insert from customcargrills. Pretty good deal. Didn't choose the large Tacoma letters, though.

My grill craft was installed in feb 2014 and by ending of 2015 it was rusting pretty bad

 

Nice looking grille,do you have the part number for your emblem?

 

Love the look of the plain mesh on there, might have to consider that option.

 

I haven’t seen any in this “ghost” style but I love the simple look of it because it’s not too in your face! How long does one usually take to complete?

 

Pull off those grills and hit everything behind there with a light coat of black spray paint. It's the little touches that make all the difference.

 

4-6 weeks give or take.
