    Guys,

I bought the raptor style grill from BPF. I've gone to 3 different body shops here in Austin TX , including the dealer and no one seems to be able to install it.

Any one out there have any suggestions for installing it ? Anyone here install them ? I can ship you the Tacoma grill and the raptor style grill if you do. Send me a message with a quote.

Any help will be appreciated .

    Thanks

I'm sure you could find someone to do it for cheap in the Marketplace. Just title it "WTB: Someone to install my BPF grill" A location helps also.

Was it the entire grill with surround or just the mesh insert? I replaced my own grill and I'm a moron, it's hard to believe body shops and the dealer can't do it.

I believe it's the mesh insert. I can understand the difficulty involved because I just replaced the mesh in mine. It wasn't to hard, but it was tedious and could've messed it up fairly easy.

Ah gotcha, the mesh can be a bear to do on your own I've heard.

It was mostly tedious. Cut, test fit, cut some more, test fit, and repeat about 20 times. Came out great though.

Yeah there is a video with instructions. Yeah it's a mesh insert. The body shops get hung up on having to cut out the center of the grill and then cutting pieces from the cutout to fill the sides of the original grill.

Are you comfortable with DIY stuff? The only tools I needed was a couple screwdrivers and a dremel ($40 at home depot). Took me a couple hours.

Yeah I don't mind . Just swapped out my headlights this weekend and had to remove the bumper and grill . I do smaller stuff on my Tacoma myself . If it only took you a couple of hours that's awesome ! Here is a video that BPF has on their site on installing the grill :https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=UUVx5ZqHmGq1PZE_4GUxIe8w&v=3A3hEObgNr8

They way this guy goes about it seems to take up a lot of time .

I say you go for it man!! It's a huge sense of pride doing it yourself. Plus then you can really take your time on it. If it takes longer for you, driving around with no grill for a day or two isn't the end of the world.

I just watched the video and it's basically a full satoshi mod. So a bit more involved than I realized. I still think you should give it a shot!!

I just did my raptor grill last week. It took a whole day. You will need bondo and paint and drummel to do the job. If you got any questions about install just pm me.

Hell yeah man! That's what I like to hear. A dremel is vital here. I've already used mine quite a bit and I don't know how I managed to mod without it. Good luck and post pics when done :D:thumbsup:
