Bouncy ride

Just bought a TRD with the double cab and a 6’ bed, I’m finding the freeway ride to be pretty bouncy. This normal? I was driving a Jeep Wrangler and a Promaster van.

1st thing I would check is properly inflated tires.

It's a truck to be loaded with stuff. Ride will change. Just completed 7850 miles to Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California and back. Better ride than any car I ever had.

 

My OR is a little bouncy but it’s awesome when off-road. Don’t rock crawl or anything but I’m confident that it will take me well past what my OR driving skills would take me.

 

Check the tire pressure. My taco leaving the dealer had way to much air in the tires for not carrying any load. I thought I was driving a bounce house.

 

What pressure are you running?

 

17 inch wheels and or sport suspension will stiffen it up

someone told me that the OE bilsteins on the OR are actually progressive and not digressive like all the other bilsteins. Truth in this?

 

I’m pretty sure the stock OR shocks are Bilstein 4600’s. And they are digressive

 

I have the aftermarket Bilstein 4600 on my Tacoma and they are not like the stock shocks they are bigger.

 

You have a sport, this thread is about an off road. Which comes from the factory with Bilstein 4600’s.

 

Aftermarket 4600s and stock "4600s" are not the same. I too thought this until I was corrected in a thread yesterday.

 

Yeah, that could be. I didn’t see any threads about it but this article seems to back that up, and is maybe what they were talking about. Real 4600’s probably will help then? I would just skip that and go with 5100’s though.
