Body Side Molding Pics?

I’ve got a TDR Pro (white) on the way and it has Body Side Moldings included. Description says “color matched to the exterior paint finish.” I’ve only seen 1 video with this option, and no pics. In the video, the moldings were black. Any chance they might also come in white (not that I’m going to get the chance to change)?

 

I have seen both colors. Don't have any pics handy.

 

My Sport came with them.

 

Thanks for the pic. I’m hoping mine comes with white. Black seems to just mess with the clean lines.

 

My bet is they will be white. Someone on TW posted a pic of a Solar Octane off-road with the black molding. I liked the way the black carried from the flares on that color.

Your Pro will have a black roof, so I would also prefer color matched. I will eventually do black wheels and larger tires on my Sport.

 

Only pic I could find of a Pro with side moldings. Just doesn’t look right to me.

 

I think the matte black flares on the Off Road trim are perfect. Glossy black just isn’t a good look on those things.

 

Looks fine on the all black pro.

 

I think it looks amazing on bronze oxide.

 

There are no clean lines on this gen. At certain angles it looks like someone hit it with the "dent" look on the front panels. I would remove it anyways, you are getting a PRO which is a enthusiast inspired off road rip roaring machine, who puts or leaves on minivan / buick side moldings for shopping carts, just my 2 cents. Congrats on the ride.

Black lower bodyside moldings on white Trailhunter

 

after fixing a dent from a shopping cart on the passenger door i picked up the body side moldings for cheap during the labor day sale ~$100 with dealer and labor day discount.

originally I had planned to get them in black to match the off road matte black trim but found out it is gloss black. so instead got them underground color matched and i think they complement the body lines well

 

Thanks for the reply. My guess is that they will be black on my white Pro. I wouldn’t mind white moldings, but will probably remove the black ones.

 

Easy to install? I know it is doublesided tape but to get level?

 

very easy, used some blue painters along the length of the body to give me a guide during install

 

I put them on mine. Instructions are online that give measurements from the bottom and edge of the door. Search “install PT29A-35240-XX”

 

Not 100% sure but they may come in both matte and gloss. PT29A-35240-02 is gloss black(color code 0202 or 202) and PT29A-35240-20 is matte(color code 11BK03.) At least this is what I can glean from google searches. If I can confirm this, I may order the matte ones for my truck.

 

Ive seen them in-person & personally not a fan & its actually a deal breaker for me...

 

Every Toyota I have owned I have put the body side moldings on. Good money spent when a grocery cart come flying across the lot or some dumbass decides to park next you even though you your in the back of the lot and opens a door into your vehicle.
