Love my Body Armor rear steel bumper, but the prep work on the paint sucked, and it started rusting almost immediately....

That sucks, I'm wondering if you got a lemon. Mines been on my truck for about 14 months now and I don't have that issue and neither does one of the guys I roll with.

AVID is about the same price. $645 (Bare metal) & $245 shipped to IL. I would get them Line-X'ed at my local tuck supply. "If I wasn't a poor man."

isn’t a bedliner a bad idea on sliders? They are supposed to slide and I think bedliner (Line-X) would look bad after a few slides off stumps or rocks. I recommend a thick powdercoat job. The style of coating BAMF does is amazing and I’m pretty sure it’s a thick powdercoat image.jpg

Just checked, found these powdercoated Body Armor sliders for $685 on Amazon with free shipping. A fair bit cheaper than $890 for those bare Avid sliders (645 + 245 for coating). Perfect for us poor men. :spending:

I have not encountered any stumps or rocks on my 2 mile journey to Walmart every week. Never saw any on my 3 mile jaunt to the laundry mat this morning either.

:thumbsup:There you go. I cannot afford them with my monthly military disability benefit check. Glad you found what you needed.

why would you want sliders then? They are higher off the ground and much heavier too. Just get those bolt on steps…your comment seems a tad ignorant

I’ve looked in to them as well I got quoted over $1000 up here for RCI’s which is close to $800 USD. I looked at RCI and Cali and everything I read was positve. I feel like it’s not something to cheap out on but that’s just me. Im just not ready to pull the trigger on anything right now…other priorities ‍♂️

I am that guy. (Post #7 you answered me with, "isn’t a bedliner a bad idea on sliders?")

yes, and…? I was saying Line-X defeats the purpose of sliders. Just throwing it out there.

its actually a better product for sliders. No powder coat or any finish will hold up to sliding over rocks, so you are best off with a product you can touch up. (If you use sliders as intended) You can’t touch up powder, but you can touch up bedliner products. If you never rub them on / over anything then powder probably is better IF the prep is done correctly,, which it usually isn’t.

I disagree since bedliner gets all shredded and shitty looking. A simple rattle can to the bottoms works fine on scuffs and they don’t rust, just prep wipe with alcohol…Been doing it for years…but I digress

Well the scratch powder with rattle can touch up looks shitty to others. But if the bedliner is shredded / acting differently to powder then it was a bad job. It should not shred / rip like plastic dip of some such if done correctly. Your original point seemed to be powder won’t scratch / is stronger, which it isn’t. If you are touching up then I see no difference between either quite frankly, except you can get the same finish re-doing bedliner and you can’t with powder.

Lol these are what I have and am trying to upgrade from. The QC is awful. Started rusting within a year. They also hang down about 5in which IMO takes away from the lines of the truck.
