Just seeing if anyone got the new wings attachment for the BA 4x4 hiline bumper they released recently. Seeing how you like them, if you got some pictures, and the install was.

Edit: Ended up buying the wings. Install was same process as the bumper. Just trimming then a few bolts and you’re done. Took about hour to install the wings. For lights I went with 6in amber diode dynamics which fit without any issues. Will add pictures when it’s no so cold and snowy outside.

One thing to note is the splash guard lining has nowhere to attach to the wings. It’s zip tied with hopes and dreams until it’s not cold outside so I can use a heat gun and mold it up and out of the way or just trim off.

From the install instructions looks like you bolt a bracket to bumper then attach wings to said bracket. So no drill just nuts and bolts.

Thems a lot of money for cosmetic wings.

Interested, but also curious on whether or not there are at least as resistant to abuse as the stock plastic.

Looking at the bracket that looks like it mounts to the frame I’d guess they would be reasonably sturdy and not bend unless you hit something hard enough to bend the bracket. I doubt the wing would bend because it’s like a boxed cube of steel. I also think it would trap water in the bolted together steel in a spot that gets a lot of snow/water thrown at it from the tires.

There's already a good bit of trimming involved in installing the bumper so that's not an issue for most looking at this. 4WP came out with this add on for their slimline knock off first and they looked pretty good. Nice to see this option for the BA bumper that myself and many others are running.

Why would you want your winch mounted so low like that?

    Absolutely not.

WTF are you on about? It is a hidden winch bumper. The winch is mounted inside the bumper near the top of the frame of the truck. Do you have a winch mounted to your overlanding roof rack or something?

When you're dragging that thing across a rock or it's packed full of mud you'll know exactly what I'm "on about"...

This setup is not for people who wheel hard and in austere conditions. Clearly.

clearly, this bumper isnt for hardcore users who rock crawl or get stuck in frame high mud. I have this bumper without the wings and its perfect for the "weekend warrior" who daily drives his vehicle and takes it offroading once in a while. my winch in the couple of times I used it worked fine so far.

You have zero fucking idea what your talking about, clearly... There is more clearance / better approach angle with this bumper than stock. I have fender wells that prevent it from packing full of mud. I neither rock crawl nor mud bog my truck, so what the fuck does that have to do with your first nonsensical post about the winch being “too low”?

Wow, that went downhill quickly for no apparent reason.

I have the BA Hi-Line and like it. Wings look nice too. Really Nice!

I have the "viper cut" do think offers more clearance? Essentially, what's the gain beyond cosmetics? BTW...it's gotta be stronger than my remaining plastic!:rofl::rofl:

Also, didn't see any mention of the amber lights or reflectors and they weren't shown in the parts?

    lol...

"I have fender wells to prevent it from packing full of mud."
"I neither rock crawl nor mud bog my truck."
    "I need a winch, though."
"You have zero idea what you are talking about, clearly."

oooookayy... tell me about that approach angle difference bro. This is literally a replacement for chin. Explain to me how your approach angle change so drastically.

So I ended up buying it. Doesn’t come with any lights or reflectors but I installed diode dynamics 6in light bar and they fit perfectly in.

Well? How is it? Fitment good? Does it appear to be a solid mount? Decent instructions? Pics?

    Well that escalated nicely.

Anyways, if you like the bumper then it's fine. If you don't, then it's not for you. Good thing there's plenty of options out there depending on what you want.

Check the original post. I added a few pictures. Fitment is good the bracket has slots for adjustments to your liking. The bracket mount itself is a little on the thin side but I don’t really plan on slamming the wings onto any rocks. I just followed along with the instructions provided. Didn’t really take any pictures or videos because the day I did the install it was about 30 degrees in my garage and like 10 degrees outside. For the sale price of $240 it’s def worth it for me at least.
