Bluetti Charger 1 truck bed install?

    Has anyone installed a Bluetti Charger 1 in their truck bed? I’m wondering which way is best to run the cables and also curious to the best way to mount it near the tailgate. I have an A.R.E. truck topper installed so the charger would be safe from the weather.

    I Installed in the cab. Not sure there's enough cable to get to the tailgate. I'm not the 'Running wire' expert, but I went battery, down, under driver side, up into cab from floor, once in the cab it was stuffing the cable under the door sill plastic to the rear of my cab. I tried loading a pic for context but it wouldn't load. Anyway, it took me a lot of time to run the wire. Not a thirty minute project. That said, it works really good.
    Another thought, you did mention wanting it to go to the rear of your bed, you already have a 100 watt / 400 watt port from the factory at the rear. If your good with 400 watts (instead of the Bluetti 500 watts) you could use the rear Tacoma plug. And best of all it's prewired. No large holes have to be drilled. Again, not the expert, but many on here have tweaked that 400 watt inverter to provide the full 400 watts while driving. A friend bought something that made it pretty simple for $100. Might be a lot simpler and save you $150. Lot's of options.

    I’m thinking it might be best to install it in the cab too for simplicity sake. Although I would much rather prefer it to be in the bed for conscience. I already have the 400w anytime conversion so I do get 400w while driving. The only problem with that (and it’s a major problem) is that it uses a “modified sine wave” as opposed to a “pure sine wave” which is required for almost all larger capacity power stations.

    We are a family of 4 so there isn’t much room in the cab to place a power station (Bluetti Elite 200 V2) inside while I’m driving. That’s why I would prefer it in the bed.

    Four22, sounds like your pretty savy with the electronics and the Tacoma. That said, you originally asked about putting it in the bed, but you might have to run your own wire to get it that far. I think the Bluetti wire is 15' total. Anyway, after asking how members wired their controllers, I shared my experience above. After thinking about it some, If I were to do it again, I have another thought. I went from battery to cab through the floor under the driver side. after putting another protective jacket on the wire I drilled a 3/4" hole that matched the angle of the wire I ran. It pretty much took up the entire hole I drilled. Over time, it's not the best solution, but it was what I went with.
    I don't know if you've already run the wire, but I did my own 'rear seat delete.' My thought if I were to do it again I would consider going battery to cab using the driver side rear vent that's located behind the rear seat. Then no large hole has to be drilled and would of saved a lot of hours of maintaining, hiding and securing the large wire that came with the controller.

    If your talking to me...rbdudeman, I pretty much laid out the route I took above(sometimes I really love this forum)...so...no. Probably another good option though.

    I ran my cables through the engine firewall and mounted it in the cab. Where’d you guys hook up the negative ring terminal on your batteries though?

    My negative battery terminal doesn’t have a spot to add accessories on my 2nd gen. I contacted BLUETTI support and they said it should NOT attach to ground wire connected to the chassis. Can I just slide it on this bolt next to the green arrow instead?

    I am in same boat on this, not sure why they want ground to be direct to battery, Vectron module is ok to install to chassis but these guys are not, any electricians maybe can shed lite on this, i upgraded my battery to chassis grounding wire to 4awg instead of ground that they had, but curious if anyone has any feedback, i feel like they are just doing this for warranty as they dont know who and how things are wired but even their breaker is odd for cars, i am swapping it out to differnt type as on theri site it even says its optional feature which was odd as its part of the kit. I am out of space in gromet to run more of this thick wire and trying to find alternative options, any feedback on if there is other penetrations in wall to use instead one that we have.

    I went a different route. I purchased a 12v to 48v step up transformer and mounted it in the engine bay. Since the voltage is now ~v48 you don't need nearly as thick of wires and I just ran those 2 to the DC connector on my bluetti coming out of the rear of the center console as I keep it in the middle back seat. I get around 400-600watts charging doing it this way.
