Didn't see a remote start, but still pretty cool. Its amazing what kind of technology we have these days. And makes you wonder how much big brother can control!!!!!!:crapstorm::brianr: I would like to be able to operate a few functions like that dude w/the maxima, like windows maybe, door locks. So i did read the entire thread, but it seems like there was no pid write up for late model 1st gen tranny temp. Im curious to see if it just pops up like others did. Ahh the waiting game!!!

Now what I would like to see is a dongle and app combo that allows reading and WRITING, so I can add keys, update, etc . Like a full on service tool android package.

Wow I didn't know they had the remote ex. That's pretty awesome. But not for yotas huh? Bummer. I still need to look into a universal Bluetooth controller for my led light bars. Hoping I can at least wire it into the activation switches on the relays.

But as far as torque goes, it's pretty awesome too. Really like it. Got the bafx as well. I only use one screen and have pretty much all the most usable gauges on that one screen so no flipping around.. also use the adapter to diagnose friends' & families cars occasionally.

And Idk if this was answered, but no, no programming car features:(

Is this something I should replace my ultra gauge with or does it not outshine it?

Ill find out by Thursday, hopefully. But from the sounds of it, yes. Everything I've read is this thing is more versatile. Just the fact that it can read, look up, and clear cel codes make it worthwhile to me. But don't take my word for it. Do your research. Ive never owned either one. Im new to both.

Edit: while I was typing that, i got an email from Amazon. I should have it TOMORROW! So ill report back tomorrow with questions/impressions.

The BAFX is a scanner, it doesn't allow changes in the ECM besides clearing codes.

With 04 and older vehicles, OBD2 was still in its infancy stage compared to today's advance OBD2 with many systems not monitored by sensors.

As cars get newer 05-present, manufacturers started putting sensors EVERYWHERE that were monitored by the ECM and the BCM ( body control module ) and technologies were developed (EEPROM) to allow editing of installed perimeters.

But with the 04 and older Tacoma's, the most you can do is clear the codes and monitor what sensors that are supported like speed, rpm, and a few others.

I'm seeing ieGeek, BlueDriver (for $100!) and IKKEGOL on Amazon. All have iPhone apps, but not the review history or stars of the BAFX.

$119! Ouch. I just spent the morning shopping around and reading reviews. I settled on the $16 ieGeek WiFi transmitter. I'll write it up after I mess with it.

    What app are you using?

This is the only apple approved bluetooth OBDII adapter: http://gopointtech.com/products/

I have been using it with Dash Command for years. The only downside is that iOS will not allow it to collect data in the background, therefore it loses connection when you switch to another app.

Quick question. i have an 04 dc prerunner v6 trd. Im playing around with torque lite in anticipation of my bafx delivery TODAY. Im trying to figure out the weight of the vehicle for the app. Truck is bone stock except my 270 lb fat ass. Oh and an oil catch can, stainless brake lines, and a westin bull bar.
