I've just recently received my new driveshaft for my 98 Toyota Tacoma and I've got all the parts and tools that I need do to unbolt the old parts and torque down the new ones.

There's only one question that comes to mine and that's will blue Loctite cure in 30 degree temperatures? Before anyone ask, I don't have a garage or another place where I can keep it overnight.

Cold temps will slow down the cure time but it will still cure

LocTite and similar products are anaerobic. Meaning they cure without air. Yes, temperature will slow the curing process, but it will cure.

Are you sure the blue is the correct strength?????

Don't use the red. Red is the permanent stuff on anything less than Grade 8.

It should cure, it's an anaerobic cure, it will just take longer in the cold.

Rear diff side bolts come pre-dipped with factory thread locker if you buy them new. I'm willing to bet a whole lot of money that the t-case side flange studs do as well. Why are you saying not to use it?

Really? I take them off frequently and haven't seen it in ages. Just checked FSM and it doesn't show to use it on the installation or components page.

I use locktite on many things but not flange bolts. I've never seen them come loose.

Some brake components come from factory with locktite but they don't state to reapply it. So it must be an assembly thing.

The only reason I know is I ordered new bolts last year after I blew my yoke apart wheeling. With enough torque to snap the yoke I figured those bolts, even though they looked fine, should be replaced. New bolts from the dealer where pre-dipped. I always put a drop of blue on my drive-shaft bolts. I don't think not using it in that location is going to cause them to back out though.
