I was trying to replace my battery in the dark (shame on me) and as I was tightening the ground, the positive touched the other port. Well they were backwards and some sparks flew. I immediately noticed my mistake and pulled things off. After proper installation I'm not able to start my truck. Cabin lights come on, some dash lights come on, fuel pump makes noise but no crancking. When I opened the main fuse box, looks like one of the fuses is blown. Anyone have any ideas as to what happened or if I'm totally screwed and just need to tow it to the stealership. Here is a picture. The cap of that fuse has been removed. IMG_8723.jpg

Looks like the fuse did its job by protecting the truck.

By "on backward", are you saying you had the negative hooked to the positive and the positive hit the negative? I would make sure I fixed that error first-right battery?, right cables?, not in backwards?, etc. I would just replace the fuze and give it a shot.

140A alternator fuse. Blew to protect the alt and circuit. Replace the fuse.

X2, but fuse is bolted in. You have to disassemble the fuse box a little bit to change it.

Also, if you have any indicator light (abs, airbags) on, radio not working, or won't shift out of park, check IG1 & IG1 No2 fuses under the dash.

Thats being kind, I've done that one before, tray wouldn't come out, -20 in a windy parking lot. Ended up taking a boxcutter to the side of the external box just to get at the inboard bolt before I froze.

Changed the alternator 140A fuse and the truck starts! But no go on gas pedal, no radio, and have the traction control light on. Shifts into gear ok. Anyone have any ideas? Dealer was out of the IG1 & IG1 No2 fuses.

The IG1 fuses both 10 amp and are under the dash behind the cubby at your left knee. They are the small blade fuses that are used on the majority of fuses circuits in the truck. They can be gotten at almost any store that has an automotive section. Here is a picture of the layout.

No problem. It's a good idea to have extras.
Did you check under the lid of the exterior fuse box. It has a spot for spares.

Well.. it started, found 4 blown fuses total. A day later the compass quit working. Today the remote starter won't work. So I'm not sure where the problem is. Seems to run fine, I have a obdii scanner but it's not showing any codes. I'm thinking the compass may just need fixing (found a link on here) but the remote starter I'm not sure about.

My remote starter-non OEM-has it's own fuze. That could have blown as well. Check all your fuses.
