Iv had the truck a few months and never noticed this until today. Is this something I did or you guys think this is a blemish in the clear coat. Almost looks like clear coat overspray.

really not wanting my truck to go to body shop and be re sprayed for this tiny spot so you think it will hurt anything to just leave it?

    am I being picky lol.

Pretty color, 3000 grit it and 3M compound it back out, looks like that'll work

Have Toyota fix it,that's what you have a warranty for.

Looks like a run in the clear (or base). I would either live with it or have a few professional detailers assess it. I would absolutely NOT take it to Toyota as they will let the lowest shmuck take 120 grit sandpaper to your truck and mess it up.

Well obviously if you take it to Toyota and mess it up its warrantied. As soon as you mess with it yourself, you forfeit the warranty.

Yes like you said I don’t want to take it to Toyota. I think I’m just going to live with it. Oh well. Took me 2 months to notice it so I think I’ll be fine lol

Yup paint was damaged in transit or on the dealer lot was covered up and sold as new happens all the time! It’ll be a rust spot in two years.

Are you sure it isn't tree sap? Have you tried goo gone or bug and tar remover?

Without seeing it in person, it looks like a scratch that was already "fixed' to me.

yes im sure its not sap or anything like that. Its clear coat on top of clear coat. really weird. Looks kinda like a drop of clear ran. Its about an inch long and its on the lower side of the cab rear. Not something you would notice unless looking for it.

My salesman had me do a paint inspection before handing me the keys so I am pretty sure I wouldn't be able to return later with any paint warranty issues.

I didn't notice the 200kms on the odometer (the accompanying paperwork said 90kms) until I got home. By the time I got back to the dealership my salesman had gone home. So I told the sales manager: "We need to renegotiate the deal because I have discovered that i have been sold a used truck". :D (me grinning) He said he didn't want me to be unhappy and offered me a voucher for a free tank of gas. I accepted, it came to $96Cdn.

Thats what paint warranty is for, its for fading too. The inspection may be one thing, but if it starts fading or peeling before the warranties up, you get a free fix.

Don't take it to toyota they will just have one if their 19 year old lot attendants take an orbital sander to it and you'll end up with swirls and a lot more problems.

Have a good detailer or even better a body shop painter take a look at it before you do anything. The fix may be worse that the blend. It appears that someone...even at the factory attempted to repair a paint flaw and didn't get it right.
