I edited an existing BlackVue mount sleeve for a GoPro adapter. I just got it printed via shapeways and it fit like a glove. I made it to fit the DR900S 36MM diameter and is perfectly. Not to tight and slides on with just enough resistance to have a good hold. (+NSFW) I tested this build at a local 3D print shop but found www.ShapeWays.com to be the best. The local print shop was off on their printing as it was too small. Shapeways print quality was much better so I recommend them.

I posted this to Thingverse so download and enjoy. I posted a slotted and a solid STEP version. The slotted version did cause some heart burn with shapeways but they printed it anyways. In the end, it worked great. Either should be perfect for you.

If you want the STEP & STL files they are posted here - (Updated New Link - July 15th, 2019) - https://web.tresorit.com/l#50Mmq7o2U89vszftCS0o8A

    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3317491

Credits: I got a few people to help me in doing this. I am novice but figured most of it out with Fusion360 and FreeCAD. TacomaWorld @RushT gets a lot of the credit along with many others that have posted on this forum and Thingverse. I simply made the adjustments for the newer Blackvue dashcam.

NOTE: This is for a Blackvue DR900S Front Dashcam. If you have the 2-Channel, just use this for the front GoPro Mount. Update: Jan 1st, 2021 - I see the 900X is out and should be the same dimensions.

    Thanks @cameleon50,

You may have accidentally returned the favor since I now can use this if I upgrade to the 900 series. Thinking about it for my cayman. Would just need a window sticky. But hmmmm, if I’m going to stick to the window I might as well use the blackvue sticky mount. Well, if I upgrade the taco I’ll use it. :)

I am liking this but not crazy about the color matching. I have a ton of Gopro mounting accessories. Maybe I have one that's flat. I could mount the Blackvue to that. If I can't figure it out, do you have a link to this on Shapeways.com? The Thingverse is if I wanted to print it myself right? I've used Shapeways before to get an on/off switch made for my LG HBS730 Bluetooth Wireless Headset. They were so small, you get 4 of them.

Just use Shapeways and upload my new files. If you choose the 'Versatile Plastic' material, it has many colors to choose from. Here is the link to what I did - https://www.shapeways.com/model/upload-and-buy/8483548. I selected Fine Detail Plastic. The old version with the cut out gives Shapeways people a head ache because the printers have trouble with these.

Could you post a picture of how this looks from the drivers seat (like full windshield) thinking about getting a dashcam but dont love having a huge camera up there and trying to understand how big it is when up there. Would really prefer something that integrates around/behind the rearview mirror.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
    Resurrecting old thread here...

    @cameleon50 , your Shapeways link gives a 404. This isn't yours, is it? https://www.shapeways.com/product/CJPHXUJNY/blackvue-dr590-2ch-gopro-v1-3

    It says it's for a DR590, not a 900, and I don't know if they're the same diameter.

There's a bazillion GoPro adapters on the site, but I could only find that one with "BlackVue" in the title.

I need to finally get my camera mounted (I've only had it a year), and using the GoPro mount seems to make the most sense.

That’s my link, something I put up over a year ago. Is it not opening for you? It opened for me.

Well, I'm a bit confused. I tried the link that @cameleon50 posted a few posts back and got the "page not found" message. I then searched for "GoPro BlackVue Adapter" and found what is apparently your part. What confuses me is this from the first post of this thread:

"Credits: I got a few people to help me in doing this. I am novice but figured most of it out with Fusion360 and FreeCAD. TacomaWorld @RushT gets a lot of the credit along with many others that have posted on this forum and Thingverse. I simply made the adjustments for the newer Blackvue dashcam."

So it sounds to me like my search should have turned up at least 2 of these parts, yours and @cameleon50 's modified version. The one that I found and linked to (if that's yours) says it's for the DR590. @cameleon50 says he created a part for the DR900 (which happens to be the same 36mm diameter as my DR750).

So, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I need to find the part that @cameleon50 created, or upload the file if the part isn't offered by Shapeways ( :notsure: I'm not sure how this works).

<edit> Looks like the file(s) are still available on Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3317491

<edit again> ...and... I downloaded the files from Thingiverse and the only .step file has "-SLOT" in the name, while the 3D drawing of the part shows no slots, and the OP did say that the slots were difficult for Shapeways to do.

I haven’t looked at cameleon’s design. For mine, yes it’s the lower model Blackvue. The ‘slot’ was there for O-rings in case the sleeve was a little loose. Turns out the fit was really good and I didn’t need them.

    It's complicated.
    Slight off-topic question:

I see that you're running the BlackVue upside down; which means that you're also able to change the orientation in the software (yes?) Does the software allow for 90 degree increments (or more) or is it only 180 degrees?

I'm going to order the mount; thanks for posting the new link.

Contacted Shapeways... Looks like I need to convert .step file (downloaded from thingiverse.com) to .stl. Working on it.

<edit> Never mind. The .stl file was sitting there staring at me. Uploaded and placed order with Shapeways. Around $22 total.

Thank you for creating the part and making the files available. I'll post a pic in a week or so when I receive my copy and get it installed.

<edit> Just got an email from Shapeways saying the part has shipped. Their customer service has been super.

BTW, if anyone reading this thread needs the part that slips into the windshield mount, PM me and I'll send you one for the cost of postage. I picked up a pack from Amazon and have 4 left over that I'm never going to use.

I don't have the thumb screws, though (see the photo in the OP). I'll just be using an M5 x 20mm socket head screw from the hardware store, since I'm not going to be mucking with the camera once it's mounted.

Got my part from Shapeways last Friday, looks pretty good:

    upload_2019-7-22_9-0-17.jpg

The part in the OP shows some pattern in the printing, this part is the same texture all around (no additional finishing options were chosen). The cylinder is a bit on the thin side, but it's probably pretty tough material, so I'm not expecting any problems. The fit on my DR750 camera is really snug, to the point that I was *tempted* to open up the ID a few ten-thousandths with some fine sandpaper, but I'm resisting that temptation. A snug fit is good. You set the camera position once and want it to stay there over time while being bounced around inside the cab.

I wasn't running a lot of errands during the recent heat wave, so I still need to get to the hardware store for the screw to attach this to the "shoe".
