Hello all, I haven't posted any reviews in quite a while on the forums, but thought this one might interest people. This one is a 2 channel 1080p front and rear camera from blackvue that has built in 4G LTE connection (with a compatible sim card) that can notify you if someone hits your tacoma even when its parked and off. It will instantly notify your phone and send you a screen shot. it will also save the video clip with 5 seconds leading up to it so you don't miss the actual impact. You can also view a livestream if you want to see whats going on.

Blackvue is pretty head of other companies with their features. Owlcam was pretty popular too but in my opinion you NEED a rear cam in your back window. personally in my tacoma I have a topper so my rear cam is much better off than the rear of a cab but you gotta take what you can.

For the record I tested this for this review in my Prius but am now considering what to upgrade in my tacoma. Blackvue has a few other LTE models coming soon so it will be interesting which to choose.

If anyone has any dash cam questions feel free to tag me.

Thank you for this. I am looking for a good parking mode option for mine. Last Christmas 02 Malibu was broken into and totaled out on vandalism (wrecked the dash and fried the computer).

4G LTE at this point seems weak with 5G rolling out, want that footage out and in the cloud as fast as possible if someone is braking in.
I feel the sides are poorly covered, again brake-in is coming from the sides
At this point shouldn't cams and head unit merge into a single system? and storage be in a hidden box not in the cam?

Good to see you back. Your reviews are what guided me when I was in the process of buying dash cams for our family fleet.

If you are more concerned about break ins you might want to check out owl cam. it also has 4G LTE, and has a camera that faces inside your car to capture people breaking in. I know the company has shown examples of it.

My problem with Owl cam is i care more about hit and runs, and having no rear camera basically crosses it off for me.

There are some dash cams that have the DVR separate from the camera lenses, but none of them offer parking mode features like blackvue, or thinkware the most similar competitor. No clue why they don't release one, I have wanted one for years.

I had a Moab trip planned in april cancalled, postponed to october but now i can't go because of work. pretty disappointed considering I bought an RTT this january and havent gotten to use it.
