I am someone that cannot wait to go 10K for the first oil change. I also have Blackstone do the testing. Wanted to share the results for perspective. Everything looking good so far. Enjoy!

So are you going to go 10k for the next one? I guess the engineers who tested the 10k interval were right.

I last performed a Blackstone oil analysis when I had my 2000 F-350 with the Powerstroke diesel. It seems to me that it would be most worthwhile to run an oil analysis at the 2nd oil change at whatever mileage that would be. For example, let's say you're someone who is still living in the 1970's and thinks that oil should be changed out every 3,000-5,000 miles. Wouldn't it make sense to see what your baseline is after the 2nd oil change? Just curious.........

Yeah the Engineers are right. I really didn't have a doubt about it, just my own personal oil changing demons. :D

I did the same on my F-250. I changed at 1950. The Blackstone crew said "Keep it in longer!". I also agree to make the baseline at the 2nd change, but I am just nutty and too curious to see what the first change is like. Just my quirks.

This is good to know. I just hit 3000 miles and am itching to change the oil. This is my first new vehicle in 11 years. I am still use to doing the first change at 1000 miles. I can see myself waiting until 5000 or 6000. 10K will be a test of my nerves.

You guys are pretty funny lol. I drive a lot of miles and 10K is usually early for me. I will do the 5.7 at 10K tho and send in a sample, just as a baseline for the V8.
