Anyone know which is the more durable paint job? I have Black (2013). The Black Sand Pearl looks nice from the pictures I have seen. Is the BSP a metallic paint? I know both will show scratches more than other colors, just wonder if one is better than the other for longevity, or maybe it's too early to tell?

BSP is metallic. I traded my bsp for my SSM, for the very reason you mentioned above.

    No mods whatsoever!
I would go with matte black if I was planning a full paint job. I like BSP better than the black IMO.

My 2012 is black and that's one of main reasons i purchased my Tacoma in 2012 because Toyota brought it back into the color mix of choice. Not a fan of the BSP(Black Sand Pearl)metallic. It looks good just not my preference.Either way you have to take care of both colors detail wise to look good.As far as longevity. If you don't take care/protect any color its going to show signs of neglect/aging sooner than you would expect it to for various reasons.

I love my black! If I were to ever repaint it down the road I would do a Cadillac or GMC Black as even the new Toyota black isn't dark enough. And I was never a fan of Metallic paints except for Toyota Lunar Mist.
