Can you tell us what you have tried to remove it?
I’d probably try bug and tar remover first, if that didn’t work, then polishing compound, and maybe a clay bar?

It's happens all the time and I use polishing compound. Hassle. Thought a spray would be easier.

Looks like plastic dressing residue runoff to me. Did you just put something on the plastic trim to make it look better?

^^^^ This. And stay away from polishing / rubbing compound to remove it. That stuff is way too aggressive. A very mild polish or even most all-in-one cleaner / polish / waxes available at your local parts store should remove it.

Mine does the same thing, and if they sit of there for a few days they can be almost impossible to get off.

If you're using any kind of protectorant on the black trim, that's your issue. Any cheap spray ceramic (like Turtle Wax hybrid) will keep all exterior black plastic black, last for at least six months and most importantly not wash off in the rain causing streaking. YMMV

I have a 2022 Tacoma (white) purchased in March of 2022 with the same issue. Its not garaged, lives outside. My hope was this was something temporary and would eventually go away. You cannot remove this driving thru a brushless car wash. You need to use the car wash foam brush or a wash mitt when washing at home. I had my truck ceramic coated right after purchase so I'm not finding it too difficult to remove. In researching this its seems this has been problem as far back as early generation 2 models. I'm going back to my salesman and starting this conversation with him. For folks like myself who like keeping their vehicles looking clean this is not acceptable. As much as I love my truck it seems Toyota is ignoring this.

I believe all colors do this. Just really shows on white. Just wash your truck. I wash mine by hand and it washes away easily. I used Turtle wax spray on ceramic coat with 2 applications for the first time last fall and it seemed to help this winter. Washed off even easier.

All vehicles will have streaks if not properly maintained. This is not a Toyota issue, it’s an owner issue.

Absolutely not. Magic eraser is an abrasive and will scratch/dull the paint.

That’s why you follow with wax. However, if you were to scrub hard it would absolutely scratch the paint. I’ve actually used it on more than you could imagine including headlights and it works wonders. People just don’t know how to use stuff gently. It’s all or nothing on scrubbing lol

Agreed on the owner issue though. That truck just hasn’t been washed in forever
