I’m sure there is already a thread, if so please point me in the direction.

I am looking to do the bilstein 5100 kit. I don’t want to do uca because I’m on a budget. What tire size will I be able to run without rubbing or cutting, and what height setting?

265/75R16 or 265/70R17 at any setting. This is the largest size at stock height and with a lift without cutting.

255/86R16 also work, we call them pizza cutters. Bigger but skinny.

Anything larger requires cab mount chop (CMC) or other cutting/modifications to fit.

Now you have all info you need to search further through forums. Let us know if you have more questions. And welcome

I have 235 85 16 and they dont look as skinny as people make them sound. They look normal to me like they should come on Tacomas stock. I have no lift but want to upgrade suspension at some point. I don't care about lift. I want good suspension.

I did 265 75 16 and never rubbed at full flex. Now I'm onto 285 75 16s and am doing ucas, cmc, and trimming.

3 inch lift from supreme suspension. 265/70/16 wrangler Kevlar at on trd off road wheels.
Yeah I ran 265/70/r16’s and upgraded to a 3 inch lift to fit 285’s/33s oem UCAs.

not regretting it one bit. If you want bigger tires I’d just do a 3 inch lift and save up. Technically from 265 to 285 it’s just a $100 upgrade on most tire/wheel companies.

but if you’re just trying to save I would do 265 the safest bet. No rub and no trimming needed.

Thanks bro. Yeah very subtle lift but rides great and 265/75/16 still look good. Great light off-roading and camping etc ... I use it it’s a truck. Glad I went this route. No complaints

Exactly. It looks great and is very functional. I carry heavy gear in the bed much of the time, pull a boat, pull an atv on a trailer etc. I want a stiffer ride that can absorb the extra weight and bumps without having to alter CV joints, shafts, or anything like that.

With towing that much weight maybe look into a leaf pack instead of an aal. Other members definitely know more about leaf packs. Or you could do Progressive leaf pack and leave overload spring in. Just a thought

I've been reading up on all the info on the forum
I think I saw the 5100 OME kit with Dakkar (spelling) all for around $1200? I'm looking for something I can install myself and just get an alignment and roll.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have a bone stock 2010 access cab, V6, 6-speed manual. Currently on 265/70/17’s. I’d like to lift it a little, maintain a decent on road ride and put taller tires on it. Thinking Falken Wildpeaks somewhere around 255/85/16 or 265/85/16. Also looking for some cheap black wheels. Would 5100’s get me there without the CMC and trimming? No off reading, just a daily driver.

Thank you guys! I will appreciate any help or advice you can offer.

This will be perfect depending on front lift adjustments you could also get a 1” block or AAL add a leaf.
    Good luck

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately those are for a 95-04 Tacoma. You think those 5100’s would give me enough height to fit 255/85/16 or 265/85/16 without any trimming or CMC? Definitely considering the AAL though. Thanks for your help!
