If I swap my stock sr5 shocks with a 5100 2” lift and 1” in back, can I use the same control arms? Will it damage any parts that are stock or should I upgrade more? Lmk

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
You will be fine. Set it on the 4th perch and a 1 inch pe a 1.5 tapered block will be all you need. You will have a slight rake. The 5th perch and a 1 inch block will be dead level. Keep in mind you may want a 1/4 shim for the taco lean, a front diff drop and a rear carrier bearing drop. They are simple to install and help keep the driveline in spec. A lot on here are against them, but they really help if you have a vibration and think about doing the ECGS clamshell bushing as preventative maintenance. Few extra dollars for the extras I'm talking about but well worth doing to make it right. You may not need the drop spacers or the clamshell bushing just yet but since your in there you might as well do it.

You can but if you want bigger tires you might need new UCAs and spacers with the stock rims

Yup. I did. (Not a SR5 though) Alignment went well and no issues 5 years after.

Thanks this is essentially what I wanted to know for this set up. I wanted to make sure I knew all the little extra precautions to take to make sure there were no extra wear and tear on the diff and bearings. Appreciate the feedback!

This was one of the lifts I was looking at for my sr5. I want up to 2" of lift but I going to tow a pop up thats about 1800-2000 pound. I don't want to do anything that would make it suck really bad at towing. I'd guess I'd need to keep tire size @ no bigger than 265/75r16. Would keeping my stock dark charcoal wheels be an issue?
The way @stealthmode pic looks is really good.

I like. The tire size looks good. Not too small and not like you're stuffing too much tire in there either. I'm sure it doesn't rub.

5100s on the fourth perch. 1.55” front. Half inch spacer on the back. Rides great. 32” 275/65R18. Could go a little bigger with the tires if I wanted.

I dont no what to say. Whatever type of camera you have its makes those tires look big, especially on a longbed.

I’m super stoked On my set up. Sometimes they do look small but I don’t give a fuck. I like the 265s wouldn’t change it. I’m a grower not a shower LOL

I'm at 1.5/1 lift with the Bilsteins and rear blocks, but everytime I see your setup it makes me want to go 2/1.5!

Don't need diff drop or carrier bearing for a 2in lift hes talking about. If hes rolling down the road doing reg stuff not necessary

Under 3" I would lift and see if there were any vibrations before doing any axle shims, carrier bearing drops, or clamshell bushings. You know, If it's not broke...

I've lifted a Tacoma 3/2 without needing any of them. And not a single vibration. I've done a 4runner 2.75/1 and didn't need either as well.

A front diff drop is good to do even on 2-3" lifts, just to get the CV angles in check and prevent premature wear... I never did one on any Toyota, but did do one on a Chevy colorado Z71, mostly because it came with the kit... On my new Tacoma I'll do a diff drop during lift install, but wait on the rear to first see if anything is needed.
