Yes, I have searched previous posts for these shocks and did not find my answer.
    So....Here I go.
Purchased a set of Bilstein 5100 Height Adjustable front shocks and the Bilstein 24-186728 rear shocks.
The height adjustable fronts have grooves and a C clip that you can move up to adjust the lift from 0-2". The rear shocks do not, although they state a lift from 0-1". I contacted summit racing where I purchased them and was told that they do not provide lift, they accommodate an already existing lift of 0-1". He also stated that was the same for the front shocks.
I quickly realizes he was not an expert on this subject.
I installed 275/70 R18 KO3's and just need a little lift to remove "minor" rubbing on the fender well during sharp turns.
I was planning on lifting the front end 1.5" and the rear 1". to help level the truck from the aftermarket bumper and winch while providing some tire clearance.
Can someone explain to me if the rear shocks actually lift the rear end, and how do I do that

You are going to need to add a leaf spring to the rear leaf packs to achieve the lift, the shock alone will not do it. Lift can also be achieved with a block spacer.

TY ToyodaSun, I had looked at those options before buying the shocks thinking that they would do the lift (Duhhhh?)
My high school football coach use to tell me, "DONT THINK, it weakens the team"
I'm 75 and know my limitations. Except for the tires being mounted. I have installed all the mods to my truck so far thanks to this forum and U-Tube. Dont think I am going to tackle the front shocks with the springs and control arms issue. However, I do feel I can do the rears. I think the spacers are within my abilities, not so sure about the add a leaf. Just looking for 1 " rear lift to level.
Do you think the spacers are an OK option

Spacers are ok as long as you don't plan on overloading the bed with weight, heavy offroading, or heavy trailering. I have spacers on a nissan titan but I'm not a big fan of them, I find the ride to be a bit jarring. They are definitely easier DIY than leaf springs though.

For the best ride feel I would go with a leaf spring and you can select a spring based on how much load/weight you plan on putting on the truck. Too weak a spring with too much weight is not good. Too strong of a spring with not enough weight, also not good, as the ride will be harsh and bouncy. The nice thing about a spring is that you can select one based on your particular use case.

I have only added a tonneau cover and I do not plan on adding anything else to the bed. I have a small 5 X 10 utility trailer which I use infrequently. I don't do extreme offroading, mainly dirt roads/trails. Based on this information I would appreciate any insight as whether to go with spacers or leaf. and a preferred manufacturer for both scenarios.
    Thank you
    Gary

Do not try to clear tires with a lift. It wont work...never will. The suspension will still cycle the exact same path of travel. Wheel offset and alignment is all that will help you. I ran that exact size for 40,000 miles and never had any rubbing. Your alignment numbers need to be 3-4° caster, 0-0.5° camber, 0 total toe and the wheel offset needs to be around +6 to -15. Anything different and you will rub the cab mount, frame, and/or front plastic.

As for the rear, go with an add-a-leaf over a block. They are about the same price installed and the AAL will give much better performance.

Thanks to everyone. On an old post< i saw a similiar discussion and a member recommended the 1.5" AAL by All Pro Offroad.
found them on Wheelers and Tacoma Beast...(free shipping from Wheelers) From what I understand from previous posts, my Bilstein 5100 series rear shocks SHOULD work. Even though they are rated for a 0-1 inch lift.

Yes, they will work. Check out the Icon system as well. Stay away from tacomabeast as they are a complete disgrace to the offroading community.
