Waiting for delivery of my ACLB off-road... I'm planning on lots of bike adventure this summer and am wondering if anyone knows of a good bike rack system for a long bed Tacoma. I'll be throwing the bike in with wheels on. I specifically got the long bed to haul bikes and to sleep in.

Is there a rail mount available? I guess I could just use some straps and the tie downs but wouldn't mind something a little quicker. Thinking something that just holds the front wheel.

Not bad.... but looks like it's more for the short beds.

Your truck does not have a front rail. My truck does, and a regular tie down is what's in that rail to anchor one side of the straps to.

However, the 2nd gen front rail will fit right on your truck. Several threads around here on that. I find this method fast and easy when the drive is on pavement, bikes solid at all legal speeds.

If you're going off road with off road bikes, the more rigid clamp method of the linked post would be better.

Of course I'm assuming your bed is clear for these applications.

My truck is a short bed but l mount my bike up on bed bars and then the rest of the bed is still usable at the same time.

I wanted the Ride88 setup but my slack-ass bikes barely fit with the wheels OFF on my DCSB. Might work for you on the LB. Super trick setup.

I ended up having to go with the RockyMounts fork axle mounts for the header rail in order to have the tailgate close.

My Large Trek Superfly100 fills my bed with the wheel off. My Santa Cruz 5010 w/ extended travel and increased slack angle fits but only at an angle. With the tire on as a test fit the tire stuck out past the end of the tailgate. If you have smaller bikes with less slack angle you might have better luck.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm working on a trayed (easy in/out) fork mount (front wheel off) with handlebars turned backward 180. Tailgate should close on my 2nd gen DCSB. Wishing I had a long bed.

Check if there are holes drilled and plusnuts installed in the front where the rail would be. I buddy with 2017 only need the rail and bolts from a 2nd gen guy. Rail is also available from the dealer or Amazon.

GL! I wish I could have gotten a long bed but it wouldn't fit in my garage and I don't trust my neighbors. I'm used to taking the wheel off for the roof rack on my Scion so this isn't too big of a deal to do. I really just need to get a tool-less axle for my SID on the SF because having to pull out an allen wrench to load the bike is getting old.

Funny, I actually have a 1-Up. Great rack. Might come in handy for me one day depending on how far the rabbit hole I go with the Tacoma with a topper, gear, etc.

Yup, love mine. Sort of glossed over your "in bed" requirement, but given the way you want to use your truck this summer (and on), it might be best to save space in the bed, just my 2c.

I mounted three Thule quick release fork mounts to my bed box. I know you want to keep the wheels on but this has worked well for me for years. The box also gives me a place to store helmets, tools, compressor, guards and shoes.

If I want to keep the wheels on or haul even more bikes I also have a rack for the receiver hitch.

Just curious…. Why not a hitch rack like the Saris or Kuat? I use a hitch rack to keep the bed open for other gear.
