I know there are tons of threads on this topic. I never ever felt like there was any straight forward answers on this one though. Its always, "i got this tire, no rub, and only leveling kit", or "but I took off mud flaps", or something that is NOT "no lift. I went to discount tire to buy: bfg allterrain 275/70r16 as this size was approved per website. The guy talked me into the 265/75r16. He assured me "no rub". They did test run and no rub. I dont do any off road but full crank in reverse out of driveway, no rub. Full crank, bouncing truck from nerf bars, no rub. Stock sr5 suspension, absolutely no lift, leveling, or mud flap removal. No rub. Sorry for reposting on a topic that seems to be on here a lot, but I am new to tw and a definite answer would have saved me tons of anxiety and wasted time researching. So those looking to get bigger tires and no lift, bfg all terrain 265/75r16 fits.[IMG]

It's kind of beaten to death but 265 75 r16 should be good. However even with stock wheels, a 3in lift and UCAs I still rub my LCAs.

I second the mall crawling issue. I personally believe in form-follows-function. If you wanna pack some swampers onto a road truck for looks...I can understand...I own a Prerunner... but Jesus Large off-road tires cost quite a bit more...and the pavement will eat them alive. Not to mention if you DID or HAD to go offroad in such a setup...you might have a clearance problem with a cosmetic decision. Just my 2 scents! yes I said scents because its like a hybrid between sense and cents.

Of course. The wife is pregnant and I gotta have somewhere thats open for those late night weird requests. Also have a 3 year old so with that little family, it looks like the crawling will stay confined to pavement or the occasional curb. Btw the mall crawler link is absolutely hilarious. Thanks for laughs.

    Factory Rims, right?

The other complicating factor that often/usually plays into this is that folks often change out their rims at the same time. And aftermarket rims typically have more negative offset and this fact leads to clearance issues.

Yes. I think that is where the rubbing issues come from. Aftermarket wheels.

We always try our best here at TW to make people laugh.

Well at least it was a Super Store Wal-Mart and not just a regular Wal-Mart. We're also high on expectations at type of malls our members mall crawl at, jk. :)

Welcome to Tacoma World! Not sure where you saw that 275s will fit stock but that's definitely not the norm for recommended tire size on a stock truck on this site. 265s are, either 70-17 or 75-16. And as someone mentioned, there is a thread in the wheel/tire section that covers this.

I used to run a 255/75/17 BFG MT on my '07 and loved it!

No rub and did well in the snow. Even looked good.

I run 265/75-16 but not BFG... Hankook Dynapro ATM and now Cooper/Definity Dakota AT... no rub ever, off roading. They are 1" taller than stock and the speedometer is more accurate as well.
