Thanks for the link and info plus feedback on your Stoptech kit. Definitely I will look on 4runner brake upgrade looks more affordable even only less 1 inch bigger than stock tacoma.

Modify this, upgrade that, When you have spare cash and don't know what to do with it, I say GO FOR IT.
I routinely pull a utility trailer with my golf cart - 1000lbs - and the STOCK brakes are more than sufficient for safely stopping the truck and trailer. FWIW

The 4Runner rotor/caliper upgrade paired with the Tundra master cylinder and brake booster upgrade is a killer mod for all the more it costs. For only a couple hundred more than a standard brake job would cost, it’s a ton of bang for your buck!

I've done the 4runner brake upgrade, made a small improvement. If your replacing rotors anyways, do it. See my build link for info. ....Edit...thought I had the info in my build but I guess its in one of the big brake upgrade post s
I've also done the sosperformance rear disk conversion, this made a HUGE difference and I would highly recommend to everyone.

You said you done with 4runner brake upgrade and made a small improvement, is it because you done the sosperformance rear disk conversion so the rear brake really help front brake in that case. How hard to do rear disk conversion to 2nd gen tacoma?

2010-2015 4Runner calipers (the mounting holes on the ‘16+ are larger than the Tacoma). 2010+ rotors and pads. I believe the master and brake booster are 08-18 Tundra. It’s a bit of a process, so you’ll want to search for the threads specific to that swap for more detailed information. It involves making/flaring brake lines to adapt to the Tundra master. Not terribly difficult, but also not exactly a simple job.

I keep looking at the wilwood upgrade. As my current setup with slotted and upgraded pads still have bad fade.

4runner brake upgrade was first, propably a couple years before the SOS kit in the rear. There is at least one youtube video covering the install. I paid to have the SOS kit installed, and just as well because they found the rear axle bearings were shot. If you've got over 100k on your truck and off-road it, probably just as well to plan on replacing the axle bearings.
