I searched but couldn't find anything...
What is the average tire life in miles for KOs?

My service rep said I was about halfway in, and that they were 30k mile tires.

    Is that correct?

I installed my tires on March 18 2013 with 50,xxx miles. I now have 106,xxx miles and they will probably last until the end of the summer. They last if you rotate them religiously.

    Thanks for the feedback.
You have the KO not the KO2s?

It depends on how you use them. If you beat them up in the desert and rocks at low tire pressure often, I'd expect around 30k miles. 45k-70k if you're really good to them on pavement.

Got 200,000 out of mine on my 96. Took them off and sold them to some 16 year old tali-wacker for $45 a piece. As far as I know, he is still runnin' em.

    j/k

    Curious...where did you hear this?

My previous set of KO1's went 65-70K with extensive off road use here in the SoCal deserts. Also had a set of KM2's that went 30K before I sold them with at least 40% tread left.

My new KO2's were mounted in April of 2015 at 172,XXX, and I am at 202,xxx now with at least 50-60% tread life left. Again, these have been on over a dozen off road trips (Death Valley, Anza Borrego, Sedona AZ, etc.) with regular rotations, run at 37 lbs consistently.

YMMV...but I would be shocked if you got less than 50K.

Whut. Are they bigger than stock size? Didn't regear and your speedometer is like 5000% off?

According to my maintenance records my KO tires went around 40000 and 8 years. The dry rot got them before the miles did.

    Okay cool...just curious.

Found this article over on ExPo regarding the performance (overall) of the KO2's...

    NMBR's Long Term KO2 Review

    Quote from the article:

The biggest difference I noticed when running the KO2's on the street, and NMBR's comments seem to reflect this, are the new siping patterns in the tread that you can actually hear when driving on tarmac. It has a distinct sound, that can only be descirbed as "traction noise." I have found them to be a much more gripping tire with the additional siping, having driven them in the local mountains through both snow and sleet.

Bottom line is this: IMO, the tread wear of the KO2's is equal to, or potentially better than the original KO1's. Their grip characteristics are certainly improved with the new siping patterns.

I’m at 6 years I think over 55,000 and I’m getting concerned about dry rot. OG KO’s. I’m actually looking for how long the rubber compound is expected to last. Considering asking BFG to hook me up before my tread flys off..

I just now bought a fifth wheel and 5th BFG Trail Terrain T/A tire so I can begin doing 5-tire rotations at every 5k mi. oil change interval! So excited! :)

I’ve been running those tires for almost 30 years on either jeep or a truck. I would have to say on average, 60 K.

I just pressures anytime the weather changes more than 10-15° and I rotate every 2500

Some run KO2s way longer than others.

In bad climate areas 6-7/32nd is pretty much the end. After 6/32nd they are basically trash in my opinion, but some run them right down.

I always find it odd when people run all terrains to bald, they spin like crazy off roading, and hyrdoplane on any kind of water. Forget snow.

I'd say 50k is generous for a set.
