I'm ready for new rubber on my 2020 Off Road with 2.5" King lift. I've been running LT285/70/R17 E1 rated K02s for a little over 3 years, and am considering either going to C1 rated KO2s or the E1 rated AT3 XLT. I've heard good things about the Cooper. My truck is my daily driver, but I also off-road all over the western U.S. and occasionally pull a small off-road camping trailer (Taxa Outdoors Cricket) that weighs in around 2000 pounds max, fully loaded.

I'm considering going to the C1 rated KO2 to drop a little tire weight and maybe squeeze a bit better gas mileage out of the Taco. Any ramifications for towing if I do this? People routinely pull this same trailer with Subaru Outbacks and other vehicles in the same class, so I'm thinking it's not a big deal.

The Cooper, however, is only 4 pounds heavier than the C1-rated KO2 (51 pounds) at 55 pounds. The E1-rated KO2 is 58 pounds. So, I'm trying to come to a decision that makes the best sense. I've had great luck with the KO2 but am certainly willing to go with the AT3 XLT if it's worthy. The Cooper seems to have a good balance between load rating and weight.

Anyone had any experience with both tires?

I have the 285 70 17 KO2s in C and really like them, the lower weight is good for MPG and power. I have a 2nd gen and get around 18 mpg combined so you will do better than that being a 2020. I'd buy them again.
Cooper does make good tires, it is a practical looking tire, if you aren't worried about looks.

How fast are you going on the hwy? I'm thinking about going with the ko2 285 70r17 load c because they only weigh 51lb compared to the Wildpeak at3w 33 load E @60lb that I'm currently running.

I’m going 60 mph, that’s our speed limit around here. I really like the 285 C load KO2s, right now I’m trying the 285 70 17 Falkens AT3w in C load. The falkens weighed 61lbs each weighed in my garage, 10ths heavier per tire. They are a bit quieter on the hwy but mpg slightly less. I look for Jeep takeoffs, those guys want to go 35s or 37s off the lot so you can pick up new tires from them for cheap.

What was the mpg hit? I'm curious on the mpg loss from 10lb difference.

Not that much, I was surprised as well. It was only 1 mpg difference.
    I’ve had C load 265 70 17 45 lbs, C load 285 70 17 51lbs and 61lbs and with a 60mph speed limit there’s not much difference, I’m getting around 280 miles before it’s time to fill up.
The 60 mph speed limit helps, if it was 70 or 80 mph then mpg sucks bad.
