I am thinking about purchasing KM3s for my 2016 Tacoma. Before I purchase them I would like your input. More specifically how many miles have you driven on them and how are they in snow and rain. Trying to decide between Km3s KO2s or Duratracs. I live in northern New England and see all types of weather.
    Thank for the help.

Our race team runs them on the rzr. I love BFG and will be running KM3s on mine next time I buy tires

Interested in this as well, have tried numerous brands and keep coming back to BFG. Although not a fan of the current size availabilities for km3. Would love something in the 34x10.5 range the ko2s have.

KO2’s are scary in the rain. Hydroplane like a biotch. KM3’s are suppose to be phenomenal according to some of the 4Runner guys I know

Thanks I was wondering how many miles guys have gotten out of them. I don’t want a tire I need to replace in 20,000 miles. I have gotten 60k on Grabber AT2s but I want something else.

KM3’s are surprisingly good in rain. Great in mud, clears mud well. Can’t comment on performance in snow.
I’ve only had them for about 2000 miles so far, but seems to be wearing well....still looks new.

Looking for a set of KM3’s myself. Just out of curiosity, where is everyone finding the best price?

Like mine so far. Not loud, okay in rain, great in mud, have not tried snow, around 5000 miles still look new. E rating little stiff for light truck looks great. My 2 cents.

What do you need the tires for, what type of terrain are you running?

I understand if you are comparing apples to apples but you are comparing apples to oranges to celery.

MTs are not great in the rain. Sure they can survive a typical shower but any legit rainstorm I would be cautious. Likewise with snow. MTs are great in powder and deep snow but will suck on hardpack/ice and your typical winter road conditions.

If you are looking for a weather based tire. Look into a less aggressive all terrain.

I only run MTs in the summer, as soon as winter comes I run Blizzaks because MTs are a recipe for disaster in bad winter conditions.

I know you've got it narrowed down to those two, but if you're considering the Duratracs, might want to take a long look at the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx as well. I've had both, and the ST Maxx is hands down the better tire. Outside of a couple sets of Goodyear MTR's, this is only the 2nd time I'll be replacing what came off the truck with the same tire. As long as cooper keeps making this tire, I'll keep buying it. Only reason I departed from the MTR's as a matter of fact is those were on a mostly dedicated off road truck. Once I got the Gen3 and it became a daily driver, I went ST Maxx. And zero regrets. The Duratracs though.....once was enough for me. And those didn't make it 15k miles before they got ditched.

Haven't had them in snow yet so maybe someone can chime in there, but in every other aspect, Maxx's far better than DT's. Surprisingly good in the rain, and in the rocks and mud, it's not even a contest.

I live in northern New England and have experience all weather. At time the my commute consist of roads with 6-8” of snow and other times it’s glare ice. I hunt all fall and travel mostly dirt roads that can be muddy at times. Anyone have a recommendation for an all around good tire.

These ^^^ are making me very happy as a winter tire, but I’ll run my K02s when it thaws out again. The K02 are not a safe tire for winter in my experience. Next Friday I embark on a 500 mile trip that is a mix of snow/gravel and will report how the Arctic Grabbers hold up to gravel roads. In snow, and on ice, so far they are awesome.

I have KO2's and live in Seattle... I've had zero issues with hydroplaning. Maybe I'm just adept to driving in it, or maybe it's a bit of an exaggerated issue.

I've found that if you curtail your driving to the outside conditions, that will do far more than any tire to keep you on the road.

Why would KO2s with siping be worse than km3s with little siping? I drive my KO2s in the monsoon and have never had an issue.

Several people on here have stated the KO2's are scary in the rain. They are also the only tire I have spun a 180 in the snow with all wheel drive going down a hill at 10mph

Just seem better as a dry weather tire according to most

I live in Albuquerque not too different from CO Springs. Do ok when the monsoon rains get up there with MTs?

There is something sinister about the K02 in particular in winter conditions. I think BFG did a great job of making a quiet and good looking all terrain tire when the brought out the K02, but they are really no better than passenger M+S radials in snow and ice. The triple-peak snowflake on the K02 is fraud.

Hopefully the K03 doesn’t suffer from the same issues. Does the K03 also claim the snowflake??
