I'm not liking the Cooper Discoverer tires and am going to trade them in. I'm either going with the BGF AT KO2 or GY Wrangler DuraTrac in 265/75/16. Does anyone have experience with both for a comparison? Looking for a more aggressive tread pattern than the Cooper's offer and they do not ride as smooth as I think they should for a less aggressive tire. The GYs are 9 lbs lighter per tire than the BFG and that seems like a good thing, but I've always bought BFGs for my previous trucks. Thoughts and opinions?

What don’t you like about the coopers? That can help determine your next tire

I had KO2's on another truck, they didn't last long and didn't wear good, even after having the front end aligned. Goodyears don't last long, at least the ones I've had didn't. Had some Falkens on my other Tacoma and they were pretty good.

Mostly looks. I thought the less aggressive pattern was going to be ok, but the small amount of off-road I will do will need more than that. Honestly I was in a pinch and these were all Discount Tire had in stock that day. I've got a 30-day return window with no penalty and now have time to wait for something to be ordered.

The Duratrac is a pretty good looking tire but, IMO, the aestetics of the KO2 are impossible to beat.

Sidewall tread is nice but not always necessary, stock tires are adequate for most off road duties. That said, I'll be ditching these guys soon.

A coworker runs the Duratracs on his Colorado and he's complaining that they're wearing fast.

I've had a set of the OG BFG KOs on my Jeep for like 8 years now and they look great and last forever... but that's about it.

When my Jeep was my daily before I got the Taco and I was tire shopping I had decided on Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 s but that purchase was put on hold so I don't have first hand experience with them, I just think they look great.

my wife has 57k on her current set of duratracks on her t4r and they will get another 10-12k outta them. I have 285 ko2s on my taco with 10k and they are still brand new. They are 2 of my favortie tires. The wildpeaks are also a great tire. Honestly you cant go wrong with either 3.

Mine came with the Duratracs from the dealership and they seem to be wearing okay, although I only have 5k miles on them

Ko2s weigh more because they are a lot stronger than the duratracs. Duratracs are better for snow but the ko2 is hard to beat in in the desert. Also someone said they wear fast which is just plain wrong. They can last up to 80k miles but obviously suffer performance.

C-load range falkens. Good looks (more aggressive in person than pics), light weight, great performance

That was me. They were on my Duramax when I bought it, load range E. They didn't last long and they wore quicker than they should. That was on my truck, I'm not speaking for everyone who's ever had them, only me

What I am about to say is solely my experience and opinion. I have ran Duratrac's on many vehicles and never had any issues. They've been fantastic on all road conditions (Minus ice for obvious reasons but you can get them studded if E-rated) and off-road and never once let me down. My father in law loves his K02's yet has had many replaced due to bad belts and not taking a balance etc. I have also heard they do not fare too well in rainy conditions but there are too many factors for me determine whether or not this was truly the tire or user error. Important item to consider is that the key to longevity of the Duratrac is to rotate them often (Every 5k kms or 3k miles).

Common mistake people make with the Duratrac's is not rotating them often. Everyone I know who rotates them often get tons of life out of them.
